Ten years ago the famous school of witchcraft and wizardry, Hogwarts, was destroyed. Many of you know of the war that had begun, just like the time before. Only the birth of Harry Potter had temporarily stopped Lord Voldemort. But then a prophecy was made that said neither could live while the other survived. Growing back to power and his own body from a drop of Harry's blood, Voldemort would stop against nothing to remain alive. He gathered his Death Eaters and any of those who would follow him and raided the school. How you may ask? Hogwarts was supposed to be the safest place in the world for any witch or wizard to be. But the frightening part was, no one knew how. There was no explanation except that maybe the spells, charms, and enchantments placed on the school had been weakened somehow.
Voldemort had finally won, destroying everything in and around Hogwarts. Many of the students and teachers were killed, the creatures that lived in the Forbidden Forest fled - those who could - and anything that was once part of the school disappeared never to be seen again. The Ministry of Magic is still baffled to this day as to what happened, and where Voldemort and his followers went after they had finished. There was an all out panic about the magical and non-magical world, knowing a dark wizard was back to full power, the Muggles, thinking it a deadly serial killer. But what was most baffling was that there were no further deaths or disappearances that were trademark to Lord Voldemort. It was unusually quiet.
With the assistance of a Polyjuice Potion so powerful, Ministry devices would not detect him, Lord Voldemort ventured himself a new name and title. Ignatius Kinsley was his new identity, Headmaster of the Kadavra Academy. With permission from the Minister of Magic, Kinsley constructed a brand new school over the cleared grounds that was once Hogwarts. Looking just like the other school, the grounds were near the same and the creatures that lived there were able to return home. The names of the houses were changed as well as others. The Death Eaters were given teaching degrees and the identities of forgotten dead wizards by Polyjuice Potion. They became the new professors of Kadavra Academy, named after Voldemort's famous spell. Avada Kadavra, the killing curse and the most unforgivable of the Unforgivable Curses.
The school was opened and students began to return, lacking in higher years since most had been killed. First years entered the school the first of September to be greeted and sorted into their houses just like Hogwarts. Classes began for the first time and all was well and unsuspected. What the Ministry didn't know was that the students at Kadavra were being brain-washed and not even knowing it. They were being trained of Death Eaters and dark magic. From the young age of eleven at which they begin school, they know no different. Some smarter students find fault in the teachings, but don't speak their minds, not wanting to be punished for some reason. But on occasion, they do try to get their fellow classmates to think hard about what was happening and draw their own conclusions.
But there was more Voldemort himself didn't know, nor see coming. Not every student was killed that day Hogwarts was obliterated. Ten students of thousands survived. They don't remember much only that it wasn't over. Most of the group was fourth and fifth years and there were a couple second years and one first year. Unfortunately, these few survivors don't have much proof that Voldemort and his Death Eaters are really the staff at this new school. But they are determined to find out the truth.
It is time you learn to tell the difference between dreams and reality. It is time for you to take a stand and choose between what is right, and what is easy.
