Enny was trying to get his mouth to stop trying to show all of his teeth via grinning insanely. He was also failing spectacularly. He really was trying to get his face back to normal, but it just was not cooperating with him. If he took a step back from himself and thought rationally, he could trace the source of his grin to his left hand. In his left hand was something that he'd never held in public before. It was warm, and firm, but soft, too. It stayed tucked against his palm, but sometimes Enny felt it move of its own accord, too. It was, simply put, amazing, and Enny had never felt anything like it before.
Jenny's hand fit perfectly inside Enny's, and as they walked hand-in-hand through the crowded carnival, Enny couldn't be happier.
Well, maybe he was exaggerating a little bit. Of course he'd held Jenny's hand before, but they'd never held hands in public. Their classes rarely ran together, and their extra curricular things ran together even less. Unless Enny coerced Jenny into the library, where he needed his hands for studying, or Jenny convinced him to hang around with her friends, which then meant Jenny herself was flitting about between people, the only time they got together was when they stole away by themselves and took a walk or something. They couldn't even be in the common room together since they were in different houses. So, yes, they had held hands before, but never had they been holding hands and surrounded by people.
The carnival had turned out really well, with many game stands, snack stands, anything imaginable, really, except rides. Rides would be rather difficult to pull off. But everything else was plenty enough to be entertaining.
Enny himself wasn't too interested in the games. His parents had taken him to a few fairs as a child, but he hadn't had much incentive to try and win the games. He didn't want any of the stuffed animals, and no one to share the toys with. The games were all fixed in favor of the vendor, and too expensive than was logical to pay. So, fairs had never interested him for the attractions. But he did enjoy watching other people play the games and run around yelling for each other.
Turning to Jenny, Enny leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to Jenny's cheek. Even if it had been a while since they had gotten together, he was still getting used to everything relationship-related. "Anything catching your eye? There are loads of games you could play."

The sun was shining and the day couldn't be more perfect for Jenny Britton and Carwyn Jones. Of course, that wasn't because of the weather. Today was the Spring Festival and as Jenny and Enny had been dating for a few months now they were at the carnival together.
This was kind of like their first public date too. They'd been together in public a lot, but usually only when she was attempting to make him socialize with her friends. They usually spent most of their time together taking walks by the lake and studying (with quite a bit of distractions) in the library.
Now they were walking hand in hand, and Jenny couldn't have been happier. Apparently neither could Enny because he hadn't stopped grinning either.
Jenny's hand fit perfectly inside Enny's, and as they walked hand-in-hand through the crowded carnival, Enny couldn't be happier. She looked around trying to decide what to do. There was so much to choose from. "Ooh," she said pointing towards one of the booths. "That one looks like fun. We should try it," she said leading him towards it. It was one of those where you tried to knock down a pyramid thing of bottles by throwing balls at it.

Enny knew that as soon as he so much as mentioned the booths, Jenny would be off and running towards them - that's why he had brought them up. Not that he wanted to be rid of her, that is. He loved watching Jenny run around excitedly, and knew she had been itching to play the games since the carnival had first been announced.
As she picked out her first game and started walking towards it, Enny automatically started analyzing it. It was one of the ones where you had to knock down a pyramid of bottles to win a prize. Enny knew from watching other people play the games that most people tended to aim for the middle of the sack, when really they should aim for the bottom. Aiming at the middle could take out the top half, but it wouldn't have enough to knock down the bottom row. He also knew that the position of the stands the pyramids were on made aiming at the bottom more difficult than it needed to be. Not to mention the possibility of straight-out cheating by sticking the bottles together somehow. But he also knew that his analyzing would take the fun out of it for Jenny, so he kept quiet.
"This one should be fun. It will put your snowball-throwing skills to the test." Remembering his first Jenny-induced winter outing, Enny couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. He had always heard the expressions of things growing like snowballs rolling down a hill, but he had never known something to be so true in reality. "Is there anything specific you want to try for? It looks like for different prizes you need to win a different amount of times."

Jenny was very fond of games. For short period of times anyways. She found strategizing or analyzing very boring. There was very little Jenny could pay attention to for long enough to really put too terribly much thought into. Except her piano, weather, and now, Enny. Games, in her opinion, were not meant to be perfected. What fun was it if you always knocked the pins down? It wouldn't be exciting when you knocked them down anymore.
She grinned, her blue eyes twinkling when Enny brought up snowball fights. Snow was her favorite weather, and as their first date had been a snowball fight, she liked it even better now. "Watch the master at work," she joked. She wasn't the best shot by far, which Enny knew. She could throw a snowball, but for some reason that was about it. Probably because she didn't put enough effort into anything else. She looked around at the prizes. For the most part, all of the prizes were stuffed animals. Jenny wasn't huge on stuffed animals, but she had a few that were special to her. She saw a familiar brown animal and pointed to it. "The otter," she said turning to look up at Enny since she was standing in front of him smiling. You had to knock down all of the bottles to get it though, which was very unlikely for the Gryffindor. She didn't really care if she got a stuffed otter anyways though.
Jenny had been fascinated with the animals since her father had taken her to the zoo when she was little. They just seemed to constantly be having fun as they swam around the little pond. Something she had already realized was exactly what she wanted to have in life. Now, no big surprise, her patronus was an otter. When she actually managed to conjure one that is. She was never going to pass her DADA NEWT next year if she kept learning the new spells at this pace. Of course she did have Enny now, and she had been catching up much more quickly now that she had study sessions a few times a week. Perhaps he could help her with that when they got back from spring break. He had already said he would.
Finally it was her turn and she took the three balls the man handed her. She glanced back at Enny before she threw. Perhaps just to reassure herself he was still there. "Here it goes," she said with a grin. She threw the ball, but it really didn't throw quite like the familiar snowballs. They were too heavy, and they weren't shaped to her hands. The first one managed to knock off the very top bottle, but just barely. She chuckled and turned to Enny and shrugged. "Warm up," she said with a wink. However, her second one was even worse and nearly hit the guy running the stand. Her eyes widened, and she apologized immediately. However, she couldn't help but giggle when she turned to look at Enny, and the guy didn't look too pleased when he said she still had one more ball.
[[Yeahhh, I hope that makes sense. XD Since it's 2:30 in the morning and I've gone soft on how late makes me tired.]]

Enny barely restrained a laugh as Jenny called herself a master. He had complete faith that Jenny was intelligent and could do anything she put her mind to, but the issue was getting her to put her mind to it. It was a rare day Jenny actually focused on anything except the outdoors or socializing without constantly being provoked into staying on-task. When Jenny decided to try for the otter, Enny quickly realised her chances of actually winning it were slim. It required all the bottles to be knocked down, and Jenny, frankly, didn't have the attention span to successfully achieve that.
Enny did.
He knew that Jenny wasn't overly fond of stuffed animals, but he figured that if nothing else, having the otter would give her something tangible to remember their first public date by. He also knew that her patronus was an otter from the practicing he had gotten her to do, and that there was a back-story involving her father and the zoo, so the otter was fitting.
When Jenny glanced back at him just before she began her turn, he smiled. It almost seemed like she was trying to make sure he hadn't run off while she wasn't looking. Her first throw wasn't too horrible and she actually managed to hit one of the bottles. The very top one. Barely. The wink she gave him while passing the throw off as a warmup almost made Enny actually laugh. It was actually a pretty decent throw, almost centered, just too high to actually knock down the tower.
When Jenny turned back to give her second throw, Enny was struck with an idea. His smile grew as, jsut as Jenny lifted her arms to aim her throw, Enny side-stepped behind her and snaked his arms around her waist, being sure to drag his fingers over her sides and stomach. It was a standard stance of a boyfriend, with his arms around his girlfriend, but it was something that was definitely not classified under the list of "things Enny can/will/would do." The ball went wide, very nearly hitting the poor bloke running the stand, and Enny let out an undignified snort of laughter. Jenny apologizing to the guy made him laugh harder, and he could feel his face scrunching as he tried to restrain himself. He felt that he really should be laughing loudly and obnoxiously, but anything loud coming from the quiet Ravenclaw would raise suspicion (especially considering the observant nature of the other Ravenclaws who saw him most often sitting quietly in his corner, studying).
Enny bent far enough to be able to rest his forehead on Jenny's shoulder, his entire body shaking with pent-up, silent laughter. He really didn't know what had come over him - it really hadn't been that funny. An innocent bystander had almost been hit by something Jenny, who was not weak, threw. Something that wouldn't conveniently explode into harmles snow upon impact, something a lot more solid. But it has been so funny to watch - to feel! - Jenny jump under his touch.
Finally managing to get himself back under control, Enny straightened up and, after grinning one more time at Jenny, tried to offer an apologetic smile to the stand-guy. Looking back at Jenny, he gestured to the one all remaining in her hand. "You've still got one throw left."
