It was nice to see just how quickly the Medi-Witch managed to get a healing substance put together, and even nicer to see how quickly it eased the pain for Nyx. The relaxation that crossed the brunette's features was a wonderful change, and an even better sight, and without all of the lines of pain contorting the other's face, Gwen took the time to observe her- really observe her for the first time.
Without a doubt, Nyx was probably one of the most handsome girls she'd ever seen by far. She was tall and built well, yet still had the personal charms that only girls could ever possibly possess. But the feature that caught Gwen's eye and made her stare were those eyes. Now that they were no longer nearly as red and watery with tears, Gwen could see their brilliant color. Not light, but dark green, emerald in color. They were positively beautiful and forced the blond to continue to stare, which almost made her miss the compliment directed her way about her own eyes.
"Hm?" she blinked, then shook her head as if to clear it. "My eyes? You think my eyes are pretty? Have you taken a look at your own?" she asked, looking almost stunned, "Gorgeous..." she muttered, and glacier blues locked with emerald orbs once again.

Nyx blushed at the compliment, embarrassed that Gwen actually said something back and that she didn’t think of something wittier to say in the first place. There were a lot of things she could say about Gwen’s eyes; like the sudden calm she experienced in the wake of them, or the way all her jumbled thoughts slowed down to turn their heads. It struck her as odd how she could have been attracted to Rosier’s glacier orbs when there existed something so warm and mellow existing in a softer, prettier face. Nyx swallowed audibly.
“Well, er…” She stumbled. Maybe she’d be more suave when she wasn’t in p-?
During her time of absence (as her attention was directed at sweet girl who was so considerate of her) the Medi-witch deftly drew the girl’s hand from the numbing salve and tapped her wand along the hand. All the shattered bones began resetting with sickening cracks, a sound and sensation that made Nyx’s face pale and her stomach turn. It didn’t hurt as bad as it should have, but it was enough to make her light-headed with surprise. A whimpered squeaked passed her vocals at the pain, but otherwise she stayed quiet until all the noises stopped.
“There,” The woman murmured with an Irish accent. “It’ll be tender for a while, so you’ll have tah be careful with it.” More flicks of the wand and the majority of the bruising vanished from her knuckles, and she started removing them elsewhere, like Nyx’s face and arms. “Mm, you’ll make sure she’s careful with it, won’t you dear?” Her question was NOT directed at Nyx, which surprised her. Nope, she aimed it at the much more responsible Gwen who sat on the other bed. “Maybe keep an eye on her in general. Yes, that’d be right. Nurse’s orders.” She patted the brute’s cheek and removed the goop, and simply walked away.
Nyx sat, completely stunned. “Uh..”

Gwen watched in complete (and obvious...) awe as the Medi-Witch set about patching Nyx up and removing the bruises and such from her skin. It always amazed the Hufflepuff just how easily Medi-Witches healed injuries and made things better for a person- physically of course, and she supposed emotionally sometimes as well. That why was she had decided sometime ago that she wanted to grow up and learn the ways of the Healer. She wanted to be able to do things like what this nurse was doing for Nyx. Help in whatever way she was able.
So it was only nature for a smile to grace Gwen's lips and a nod to rattle her head when the older witch instructed her to keep an eye on the other girl. "Not a problem." she stated in reply, then allowed her eyes to drift back to Nyx's frame. She blinked once or twice at the stunned expression on the other's face, then gained a fairly sheepish expression of her own. "Well, seems as if you're stuck with me for a bit longer, eh? Hope you don't mind...I don't want to be a bother, after all."

Physical pains from the past week began disappearing or dulling all over, making the currently morose Gryffindor much more comfortable and more presentable. Olive skin smoothed out and colored properly with the removal of the bruises, wiping away her rowdy, impulsive nature like it never existed. Her lips were still slightly chapped, but it added a boyishly pretty element that blended well into the handsome face. They hung open slightly, the instructions were still floating around her dense skull and bewildering her expression at the pretty Hufflepuff with Caribbean blue eyes.
Nyx offered a hesitant, tiny little smile. The beast’s voice in her head murred in contentment, snuggling right up to the idea of the girl following her around. Her ears turned a bit red in embarrassment at herself.
“Bothah? No!” Her good hand found the back of her neck in her subconscious gesture of vulnerability, probably at her embarrassment. “Yeh dun’ ‘aftah if yeh dun’ wanna, ya’know!” Nyx murmured shyly. “Ah’know th’nurse said yeh should, buh… Yeh pro’lly ‘ave better thin’s to be doin.” Not quite emerald eyes found Gwen’s again, and that strange sensation of contentment washed over her again.
Gwen was such a nice girl, Nyx didn’t want her to subject herself to a dunce like her. So many people were finding their way to her this week, either to bash her verbally for being such a slut, or to beat her physically because her will to fight back was missing.
“Yeh pro’lly shouln’t b’seen with me, eithah…”

Gwen's head canted a bit to the side as Nyx started speaking to her. Something about the other girl's voice was so..soothing and comforting- well, now that it wasn't etched with pain. There was still grief in the brunette's tone, but it was nowhere near like it sounded when Gwen first stumbled upon the Gryffindor. Her head bobbed a bit as she continued to listen, though this action was quickly replaced by a shake of the head. "I have nothing better to do," boy, that sounded bad, "Erm, not that there'd be anything better to do!" that wasn't any better! "Ugh...I mean..." her cheeks flushed red with color and the blond's eyes cast downward, "I don't mind staying with you and making sure you stay alright. I don't have anything planned for today, and my classes are done for a while..."
The comment about not being seen with Nyx caused Gwen's head to lift again. "Why do you say that?" she questioned, her tone much softer now, though her cheeks were still fairly pink, "If its some House discrimination thing, or because people think you're strange or something, I don't care about that kind of thing. I think a person is a person no matter who they are, or where they come from, or who their family is." she gave a curt nod to these words, then straightened a bit, squaring her shoulders, "The nurse said I'm to stick with you, and that's what I'm gonna do. If people don't like me hanging around you, too bad. That's their loss and stupidity, not mine." Besides, it had been an order issued by an adult, and Gwen, after all, was a stickler for the rules.

Nyx didn’t catch the problem with what Gwen was saying, and merely smiled softly at the blonde’s embarrassment. Her heart did a crazy thing in her chest at the fumbling, the stumbling, and the blushing. It was insanely endearing that this really, REALLY pretty girl had it in her to be modest and so worried about what Nyx was to think. It made her look away, overwhelmed by such kindness from a stranger and ashamed to have let the people she had really loved down.
What could she do to a stranger?
“If…” Her voice fell, unsure of what she wanted to say or needed to say. Nyx couldn’t bring herself to tell the whole story, but she didn’t want to leave such a sweet girl in the dark, either. Especially if she was insisting to stick close. “Ah’m just…” She listened to the list of things Gwen said and her face fell a little when nothing really related to her. “List’n, Ah’ve done som’thin’ stupid n’some o’ th’others ain’t bein’ too nice abou’h it.” Her healthy hand grasped the edge of the bed and pushed from it as she scooted off. Strong, sturdy legs wobbled in the wake of her excessive workout, but she was doing much better now. “They’re sayin’ thin’s yeh pro’lly shouln’t ‘ear, an’…” Nyx hesitated and approached the other bed so she didn’t have to speak so loudly. “They wanna figh’ me, Gwen. I jus’ don’ want yeh tah get caught in’th’middle o’ thah. Yeh’ve been too nice.”
Though her face was clear of pain, her eyes expressed everything her words and her body wouldn’t let her. They spoke of her honesty, and genuine concern for Gwen. The beast in her mind puffed up protectively.

Gwen's brow creased slowly, "Fight you?" she repeated the words, testing them, almost as if she couldn't wrap her mind around the concept of why anyone would ever want to fight with someone like Nyx. "Why in Merlin's name would someone want to fight you?" She had gotten slightly loud with the demanding question, and as a result her eyes cast about to make sure she hadn't been heard. Luckily, the attending nurse was busy and Poppy was still nowhere to be found. This drew Gwen's eyes back to Nyx and a frown made purely of concern captured her lips. "Are you in some kind of trouble?" What a naive question! If people in the school wanted to fight her, surely that meant she was in some sort of trouble.
This fact coming too late to mind caused one of Gwen's eyes to close and her face to scrunch a bit, "I mean...apparently you are..I guess I should be asking what kind of trouble you're in and seeing what at all I can do to help get you out of it." she regained her composure and added a smile, "After all, you're in my care, and I'll be damned if someone's going to attack and hurt you on my watch."

She was never ashamed of her fighting before; it was a mark of what she thought to be her only strength, and never out of revenge or anything silly like that. Every fight she ever entered was for the benefit of others, to protect the little guy, and only after a refusal from the bully to stop. Nyx was the bully’s bully, keeping them a little more wary of their actions and to watch out when she was around. Especially since she never lost any of these fights. But… She felt very bad about them now, looking at the passionate Gwen. It made her feel a little more gross and dirty, and her shoulders fell another notch with the weight.
“Uhm… S’revenge fer gett’n beat’n by a’girl.” Nyx swallowed nervously. “Ah ain’t been feel’n well la’ly, n’they know thah and… Well, there’s a lo’h of ‘em comin’.” Her eyes dipped down to the floor sadly, figuring the pretty blond would probably walk out now. “I’s all mah fault, really. Ah deserve it’all, yeh dun’ hafta feel like yeh need tah protect me…”

To say she was confused would be an understatement. Not a thing about what she had just been told made sense to Gwen at all, and it showed very clearly by the confused expression on her face. Her brow was pulled down, making her forehead wrinkle a bit, and her eyes were narrowed just a tad bit. Her lips were parted like she was trying to think of something to say, but didn't quite know where she was supposed to start or how she wanted to get out what she wanted to say in the first place. "I...don't understand." she admitted, deciding on the straight forward approach over the situation. "People want to fight you because you got beat?" she made a confused noise to punctuate the expression. "I don't follow..." she shook her head then tipped it a bit to the side.
Regardless, whether the situation was Nyx's fault or not- which somehow she just couldn't see it being her fault, really- Gwen wasn't about to let people just walk up and start beating on her for- well for any reason at all. It wasn't right, it was needed, and it just wasn't going to happen. Gweneth was a quick draw with her wand and wasn't above using it against another student if the need arose. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that, but if it did? Well, Gwen would definitely be ready and waiting. "Still," she shook herself out of her stupor and shrugged, "I won't look at it as protecting you then, I'll simply be assisting you in a time of great need." she nodded curtly to this, then folded her arms stubbornly over her chest.

How close were they standing? Obviously too close if something inside Nyx’s mind was urging her to kiss that cute little wrinkle forming on the pretty blonde’s head. The tall brute swallowed thickly and urged her eyes back on the floor where they’d strayed. Don’ b’an idjit… What got her into this mess in the first place? Kissing Diomedea, who was a straight woman. If her mind was functioning even slightly (which she hoped she could at least manage THAT much), that meant that she shouldn’t go around kissing straight girls unless she wanted to set of a stream of events that would suck and hurt this bad or worse. C’mon, look’t those lips! Ain’t they pretty?
Emerald eyes flicked up briefly before quickly returning to the floor.
“Uhm…” Yeah…. Nyx shook her head, trying to rattle that thought away. After what had happened last week she shouldn’t kiss anyone again. She was too much of a freaking slut. “Ah… Can’h argue with’yeh, Ah guess.” Despite being almost six feet tall and lanky like a willow tree, as she tilted her head up to look up through her lashes Nyx looked every bit as endearing as her heart was.
“Yeh’ll b’with’me all th’time?”

Gwen watched the other girl as she gazed between the floor and Gwen herself. Her head tipped to the other side, an eyebrow arching as she watched and tried to figure out just what Nyx could possibly be thinking right at that moment in time. Hopefully it wasn't another reason for Gwen to stay away from her. Whether Nyx liked it or not, she was going to be there and do as she was told at the very least. Though hopefully the other girl would come to accept Gwen as more then just a pair of eyes watching her all of the time. Nyx was friendly and highly likable (not to mention rather attractive!) and hopefully with time, the two could be friends rather then just two girls assigned to one another.
So when Nyx finally gave Gwen a response, the blond girl made a fairly squeaky noise and clapped her hands together once or twice. "As often as I can be!" she promised with a nod, "I mean, I can't get into your House or anything, but when you're out and about, I'll be there! Just gimme a place to meet you in the morning before classes and I'll stick to you like glue from that point on!" The grin on Gwen's face was classic, and very much fitting to her features and personality. Hopefully this was the start of a great relationship.

All she could do was stare, because that was without a doubt the cutest, most adorable thing she’d ever seen. Yes, it was even up there with big-pawed, fluffy puppies with floppy ears and pitifully tiny kittens. Her heart did another little flip, and Nyx realized that, without a doubt, she’d never be able to say ‘no’ to the way those pretty lips curled. The time she spent with Gwen (or rather, the time Gwen decided to stick around) would be a sea of losing battles, her arguments shot down by a sweet personality, pretty eyes, long lashes, and those adorable little smiles.
“Wha’ever yeh wan’h…” She heard herself saying, and blushed a little. What a way to be a pushover! “Er, ‘ow abou’h outside th’dinin’ hall? In th’mornin’. B-b’fore breakfast!” Merlin, what else could she do in the bright rays of that smile? It was just so pleased and happy, and just so damned endearing… For a useless idiot like Nyx, it was easy to be tripped up. At least, if they met down stairs Gwen wouldn’t have to walk through the halls with Nyx, when the commentary and harassment were the worst. But what about later in the day? Would she want to walk with her to lunch?
There’s no way she couldn’t find out…

Gwen listened to the response, and the meeting place, then nodded. Somehow- there was really no telling how it happened- but the smile on her face managed to get even brighter due to the other girl. "Sounds great!" she replied with another nod, her hands clasping together and falling into her lap. "Though...where do you need to be now? 'Cause...since you're all healed up, I imagine we should probably scoot from the Hospital Wing, don't you think?" Her head tipped a bit to the other side again and her gaze went back to its curious state. "Is there some place you need to be right now? I'd be more then happy to escort you there."
((Holy Geebus, Coley, I'm sorry...this post is pathetic in the worst of ways, but its all Gwen's giving me to work with right now... >_<))

Cute… She almost made a sound in the back of her throat in response to the little mannerisms Gwen was displaying. Nyx’s head rattled a little as she tried to remind herself to feel horrible; She kissed Diomedea Rosier, lost her best friend, she was a slut, she was sore and skinny and… A blush brushed her cheeks as she remembered that she was still sweaty from all the running she’d done. The only reason she remembered in the face of adorable beauty was the fact that it was drying on her skin, and it caused her to take a slight step back.
Such an idiot… Gwen didn’t need to be subjected to that!
“Er… Pro’lly a showah.” She mumbled in complete embarrassment. Merlin, she probably looked like she’d just done a workout, too! And all that managed to do was make her blush harder, right up to her ears. “Geez… M’sorry, I pro’lly look a mess righ’ now!” Nyx folded her arms under her chest and returned to staring at her feet… Wait.
Why did it matter what she looked like? Not like she needed to impress anyone, since Gwen was probably like everyone else; straight and smart! “Er..”

Gwen blinked a couple of times when Nyx stepped back and concern drew her eyebrows together and creased her forehead. Had she done or said something wrong..? Hopefully she hadn't offended the other girl somehow...That's all she needed, to assure Nyx that she could be trusted, then make her feel bad with the way she was...Then the subject of a shower came up and again Gwen blinked, then smiled again and laughed. "If you're worried that you smell bad, I promise that you don't." she informed the other girl, taking her turn to slide off the bed she'd been sitting on. "Though you do look a bit roughed up, if you don't mind my saying so..." hopefully that wouldn't offend Nyx...
Without so much as a wit of hesitation, Gwen reached out and took Nyx's uninjured hand in her own. "C'mon," she grinned, tugging gently for the other to follow, "I'll walk you up to your House so you can get cleaned up or whatever. We'll discuss your class schedule on the way there so that I know where to look for you if something holds you up from our meeting destination."
