((I founded my Dessy Muse! We'll see how long she stays with me! xD))
It had been a rough couple of years. Nightmares. Horrid, mocking Slytherins. Constant scares about losing remaining family. Loss of friends- and these were the reasons why Adessa Creed had completely shut herself off to the world. At the time, she had figured it would be safer for her to remain on her own, closed in, not allowing anyone who wasn't already in her circle into it- and even though in her circle hadn't had the best of times keeping up with her. Even to this day she didn't know why she still had the friends she had. Perhaps it was their understanding that kept them around, who knew? All Dessy knew was that she was extremely grateful for the fact. Which was the biggest part of why she'd finally decided to let go of her past (or try to at least) and work on making the best of what she had. After all, spending her last year at Hogwarts the same way she'd spent the last couple just wasn't an appealing thought.
Within a single year's time the redhead felt more like herself. For the first time in a long time she felt good. Yes, occasionally she still had haunting nightmares, but rather then crippling her and turning her into a complete mess, she'd simply take the time to breathe, calculate her surroundings, then carry on. She was tired of worrying everyone. Tired of everyone having to worry or stress about what they could or couldn't say to her. Topics that couldn't be discussed, people that couldn't be mentioned. It was just too hard to be Dessy's friend, and she was tired of it. So, she put an end to it all. It had just been a matter of waking up one morning and basically getting over herself. Sure, it was a harsh way of putting it, and the trauma would never really go away, but it was time to grow up and move on, and that's what she planned to do.
That was why she had woke up in such high spirits today. The original plan had been to go outside and find something to do, though the rain had put an abrupt halt on that. So instead, she ventured her way around the Castle, greeting those she came across and ignoring the confused looks she was getting from those who hadn't yet realized the changes she'd made over the year. Her wanderings had eventually dumped her into the North Tower, and for some reason or another, this seemed like as good a place as any to sit and relax. Sure, it was much less likely for people to find her up here, but hey, lots of students had seen her come up here, so who knew?
The point was that nothing really mattered- in a negative sort of way, that is. Adessa was content, leaned casually against one of the walls, sat on the floor, with a book open in her lap. If she was going to be alone up here all day, at least she'd get some good book reading done- and even that was good enough for Des right now.
