Elijah was coming from the library and he was mad. He had read about his parents again. So he was a little worried that he would be just like his parents. He sighed as he entered the Great Hall. He looked near where he usually sat and froze, his eyes widening slightly. For there, standing near a table, were his parents. He knew them from the pictures he had seen. He had two choices. Either he could ignore them or he could go tell them to get the hell away from Hogwarts. He chose the second option. He stormed up to his parents "What the hell are you two doing here?" He snapped icily.
Elijah's parents turned toward him and they smiled. "Why, we're here to see you. We could go out whole lives with never seeing our son again." He glared at his father.
"I have no parents..." Elijah muttered. "And I sure as hell got here on my own so I don't need you two. For all I care you could rot in hell for thousands of years. I don't want you around." He said this because he didn't want them seeing Emily. If they hurt her he would certainly lose him calm and actually kill them. God, he wanted to kill them now.
They laughed coldly before his mother said "Oh come now," She grabbed his chin as he looked away from her "We came to see you and we expect you to cooperate with us.." She said with force. Elijah pulled back. He wanted to hurt her, he wanted to hurt her so bad. No, he thought What would Emily think? Why he even based every thought off of Emily he didn't know. Well, he did but he didn't want to admit it to anyone.
Elijah glared at them as they smirked. "You do anything wrong I swear I'll..." And then something caught his eye at the entrance of the Great Hall. He winced, did she have to come in now?

Today had been a long day. Not an awful day or anything, but a long one. She had spent the afternoon practicing for the upcoming Transfiguration test with Ang and a few boys in their house and year, Tom and Alistair. Ang had invited them. Well she had invited Tom, who had brought Alistair along. Emily had eyed Tom suspiciously all night. Why did he keep looking at her friend like that? Angelina was totally clueless of course. Tom himself might not even realize he was doing it (in which case, she had not made a good impression), but Emily was suspicious. Emily had made cookies. (Of course.) The boys had enjoyed those. Emily had ended up spening most of the time with Alistair as her partner. Which was fine. At least he was smart. She had little patience, she would not make a good tutor. Yet it didn't help ease the suspicion she had of Thomas Ashcroft. Ang was too nice for her own good.
They had ended a short bit ago. Tom had Quidditch practice. (That was another black mark on his record. He'd better be careful.) Alistair had run off somewhere. She didn't know, nor care to be honest. Ang had taken both her own stuff and Emily's and walked back to the dorm with Tom. Emily had glared at him when Ang wasn't looking. (Poor Tom, he really had done nothing wrong.) As she walked though, her thoughts drifted back to where they often did when she wasn't concentrating on something... or even when she was. She had a few encounters with Elijah Tremain now. Which included her yelling at him, him telling her that his foster parents beat him and her awkwardly touching his arm, then him dreaming about her and for some reason telling her about it by showing her, which was in result, almost kissing her. Then she had yelled at him some more. Then they had encountered Kaoru, her sister's ex, and he had saved her from eating breakfast with him. (Thank Merlin.) Then they had eaten breakfast together. It had not been particularly unusual or anything, yet she couldn't stop thinking about him. It was odd, and definitely not her. (So it made her irritable, and she had taken it out on poor Tom.)
She entered the Great Hall. It wasn't very crowded since it was a bit early for dinner, but she still looked over at the Slytherin tables to see if he was there. She tried not too, but she couldn't help it. He was there, as were two people. The looks of them made her shudder. She wasn't sure why. They looked familiar... they also looked a bit like Elijah... then that must mean.... his parents were here. For some reason she immedietely felt worried about Elijah. That was silly though. She shouldn't assume they were bad people.... he looked angry though. She was worried, but she had to go over there. She didn't want him to do something he'd regret. Plus, she was worried. She stood up straight and walked over to the group very confidently. She smiled at the two even though it wasn't very sincere. "Hey 'lijah," she said looking up at him the worry showing for a second, but she hid it well from the other two. "My name is Emily," she said sticking her hand out two a bit unwillingly, but it looked sincere enough.

Elijah's eyes widened with a sort of pained look as his parents' eyes landed on Emily. They looked at him, then back to her, then him again. A smile broke across their faces at the exact same time. But this time it looked sincere. Elijah knew better than to believe this. Even though he had never met his parents before now but he somehow knew that they were up to something. Or maybe he just suspected that they were. They were serial killers after all. For all he knew they were totally unpredictable. "Now, who's that young lady?" His mother asked him in a sweet, but fake, tone.
Elijah glared at his mother. There was no chance in him getting away with saying that he didn't know Emily at all, but maybe he could try. " What? Her?" He said, trying to think light on his feet "She's just some girl that I see in the library. For all I know she likes to study." He tried but his parents shook their heads in a way that said 'You can't fool us'. He let out a deep breath and when he spoke his voice was low. "You do anything to her and I swear on the founders of this school that I will kill you two."
"Aww, isn't that just like our boy..." His father spoke up "He'll kill us." Elijah winced, he didn't want to be anything like his parents. So, he decided that since he wasn't allowed to kill them. Maybe he would just turn them in and get them sent to Azkaban. He hoped the Dementors sucked their souls out if he had to turn them in. Whatever happened to them they deserved it. He opened his mouth to say something else but his parents got that sweet look back on their faces. He tilted his head in confusion but froze when he heard a familiar voice. He was too stunned to speak. No, no, no. Why was she over here?
Elijah looked pained as she held out her hand. Damn. He wanted to tell her to go away but couldn't find it in himself. His parents shook her hand. "Hello, Emily." His mother said "I see that you and Elijah are very good friends." Elijah glared at her, his breathing slowly getting faster. His anger was starting to boil up. He wanted to hit something, he needed violence. No, He told himself Violence is all you've ever known. And it's wrong... He looked at Emily, panicked. "These are my parents," he started, grabbing her arm "That's nice. Let's go.." He started tugging at her arm but his father stopped him.
"Now, now, Elijah. Is that a way to treat a lady?" Elijah glared at his father then. He knew nothing about how to treat a lady. And he even knew that he was trying to save Emily. "Emily. How do you and Elijah know each other? I think he has something for you.." Really, his parents had to show up and now they were trying to humiliate him in front of Emily. He wasn't too embarrassed. So, he had a thing for Emily. She probably knew it too. The onyl way his parents could embarrass him is to say that they were proud of him. That would be the worst thing to happen to him.
"Emily..." Elija warned in between his teeth.

They both shook her hand. They were acting polite enough, but she still couldn't shake the bad feeling she had about them. She hated that. She judged based off experience, not what she had heard or what someone looked like. That wasn't logical. The Ravenclaw inside her didn't agree with that. She was determined to give them a chance until they did something wrong. They were Elijah's parents after all. She forced a smile at his mother's comment. She sounded as if she were implying something with those words. Trying to get some sort of reaction out of Elijah. She couldn't figure out what it could be implying. She was still analyzing the statement when she Elijah started to talk and then grabbed her arm, telling her it was time to go.
She was torn between allowing him to take her away because the his parents were freaking her out a bit and protesting because he was telling her what to do. However, Elijah's father stopped him before he had the chance. She looked up at the once handsome face with surprise. A very faint pink colored her cheeks, hardly noticable, but still there. A thing for her? She didn't think she should trust what the man said, but she was immensly curious whether or not that statement was true. She wasn't sure how to respond. She glanced up at Elijah. He seemed to be in pain. He said her name in a warning tone. She suddenly knew what to say. She turned and looked back at his parents smiling at them again. It was a much less timid smile that didn't look quite so forced, even though it was. "Oh don't be silly," she said to him. She threw in a short laugh for affect. "We hardly know each other. We've only met twice before. Once when he ran into me in the hall, and then once we briefly talked at breakfast." No need to mention how much they had talked about or what they had talked about or the dream.
This turn she grabbed Elijah's arm, but it was in a much softer and less forceful way. "We've been assigned to work as partners for a project though. Which is why we talked at breakfast. We really are behind. It's due next week and we're not even half done." She really was a Ravenclaw through and through. Using homework as an excuse. "So we must be off. It was nice meeting you both," she said smiling again. She tugged at Elijah's arm hoping they could escape now. Screw judging off experiences just this once. They seemed like creeps and Elijah shouldn't have to deal with his creepy parents returning after abandoning him to abusive foster parents for years.
