{ About The CHARACTER }
x Emily Claire Watkins"Em"
CANNON OR ORIGINAL: Original YEAR: 6th AGE: 16 DOB: April 11th RACE: White GENDER: Female SEXUALITY: Straight WAND: 9 1/3 in, mahogany, mermaid scale BROOM: n/a PET: An older, dark-colored cat that sleeps a lot named Charlie, and a curious, light brown kitten named Sophie
APPEARANCE: Emily, obviously, looks nearly exactly like her twin sister. She’s fairly tall for a girl, but not really tall compared to most guys. (Especially the males running around Hogwarts.) She stands at 5’8, and she’s on the skinny side, and she’s able to keep it that way no matter how much she eats. She’s also got long legs. (The girls were lucky enough to inherit their mother’s body.) She looks graceful when she walks and much more feminine then she is. When she’s not wearing the awful school uniform (the skirt is WAY too short for her liking) she’s usually dressed very casually. She tends to wear dark, neutral colors like greys, dark blues, browns, and blacks. She is usually wearing jeans and a t-shirt except for occasionally when her sister or a friend forces her into ‘girl clothes’ as her sister calls them. She grew up around her father who had a British accent, her mother with a French accent, and in Italy. The result was that she ended up without any accent really. When she speaks French or Italian she doesn’t have an English accent either.
Her hair is the major difference from her sisters. They both got averagely thick, kind of curly, dark brown hair. Emily leaves it how it naturally is, long and moderately curly. Lucy however changes her hair every couple of months. The hair is a mild enough difference that if the two were to pretend to be each other, they could get away with it. Especially if Em wanted to be Lucy because the girl changes her hair so often that no one would no the difference. Plus, Em can mimic her slight Italian accent very well. Emily considers her eyes to be her most interesting feature, as do most. Her eyes are a golden brown color, and in the right light, they kind of look like cat eyes. FACE CLAIM: Amelia Warner [Thanks to Patty for finding her]
PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Twins it seems are usually exactly alike, or, more often, complete opposites. Lucy and Emily Watkins certainly fall into the latter category. While Lucy is the loud, outgoing, flirty type, Emily is quite the opposite. Em usually keeps to herself other then her small group of friends and family. Many people call her shy or anti-social, but a more accurate description would be that she doesn’t like small talk with people she doesn’t know or doesn’t like just for the sake of filling up time or being polite. She considers school a time to learn and prepare yourself for the future rather then making as many friends as you can who would stab you in the back if it meant they could be more popular, or if you were more popular then them and they were jealous, while dating loser-guys who treat you horrible while you try to find “true love.” Emily’s school work always comes before her social life, and she spends the majority of her time studying. She enjoys games that require logic or knowledge such as Wizard’s Chess or the muggle rubiks cube. However, other then that, she really doesn’t have any other hobbies. The words “Yay! We have homework. Now I have something to do tonight,” have left her mouth more then once, followed by glares from the classmates around her. She doesn’t speak up very often in class, but she’s a bit of a know-it-all and she doesn’t like to be told she’s wrong.
Despite how much time she spends studying and how serious she is about her school work, Emily is not a complete freak. She does have her family, which she is close to, and her small circle of friends. She doesn’t find the need to seek out new friends. She’s perfectly content with those she has. Around these people she talks, laughs, jokes, etc. Emily can be, and often is, very sarcastic, especially to her sister. It annoys Lucy to no end, but Em does it anyways. (In fact, perhaps she does it because of that.) She often makes sarcastic comments under her breath. Lucy isn’t the only one she teases, she (usually) means it in good fun. She’s very loyal to her friends. She’s the kind of person who will be your absolute best friend (without that much effort really, all Ang needed was a plate of cookies and a sarcastic comment to get in) unless you betray her that is. She holds grudges, and doesn’t forgive easily. Despite all this, she really is pretty easy going excluding for her schoolwork. She doesn’t stress too terribly much about the little things. She tends to let people have their way if it doesn’t matter to her, especially her sister. However, she’s also really stubborn if she sets her mind to something. (Especially if you tell her she has to do something.) She can tolerate most people except a few categories. Really obnoxious guys set off her buttons fairly easily, as do girls who throw themselves at guys and act stupid to get their attention.
Despite the fact that Emily and Lucy are so different, are constantly arguing, and never stop teasing each other, the two are really close. They’re protective of each other in different ways. Em cares for her sister in a parental sort of way. She’s the one who worries about Lu’s grades or the guys she’s dating. Lucy tries to get her sister to loosen up a little bit and ‘be a teenager.’ The two aren’t as close as they were when they were kids, but they still make the effort to hang out with each other occasionally. BOGGART: Her sister’s dead body. PATRONUS: Cat HOPES FOR THE FUTURE: She wants to work for Inter-Ministry Relations. Not as an Ambassador, but as someone who works more behind the scenes. She might change her mind though. This is just an idea. Once she starts her career she might marry and have a kid, two at the most, if she were to meet the right guy.
SPECIAL ABILITIES: Speaks Italian and Spanish fluently. BLOOD: Half-blood BIRTHPLACE: London MY FAMILY: Marshal Watkins [Father, Inter-Ministry Relations, former Ravenclaw] Claire Watkins [Mother, does charity work, muggleborn, graduated Beauxbatons] Dustin Watkins [Brother, 19, former Gryffindor] Lucy Marsha Watkins [Twin Sister] WHATS IN THE PAST: Marshal Watkins was only a year out of Hogwarts when he met Claire. Marshal had dreamed of working in inter-ministry relations since he was 12 years old. At age 12 he met one of his father’s friends while at a dinner party. The man talked to Marshal expecting very little as he was a 12 year old male, but found a surprisingly mature, well-spoken young boy. Marshal had always been good at getting people to like him and convincing people to do what he wanted them to do. The man was so impressed, he told Marshal (and his father) that he ought to go in to something diplomatic- like ministry relations. Marshal’s father and the man laughed it off at first, but later Marshal asked his father what exactly that was. When his father explained- he was hooked. Like any good Ravenclaw student he threw himself in to his school work determined to get where he wanted to be. He ignored his mother’s attempts at match making as well as the occasional girl who happened to take a fancy to Marshal. He was determined to start his career before his family, and he did a very good job of that for a while. He was offered an internship the summer before his sixth year, and it was renewed the summer before his seventh. He got the job of assistant to the French Ambassador in Britain, and he was well on his way to becoming an actual ambassador when he met Claire and was thrown off track. The ambassador sent him to the train station to pick up his daughter and her friend. That friend was, you guessed it, Claire. Claire Sinclair (yes, that was her name, she never quite forgave her mother for that one) was a pretty thing. She even did some modeling. She had attended Beauxbatons, which is where she met the friend. Claire however, was not just some silly, stupid, giggly model. The friend (Monica) had convinced Claire Sinclair to do it with her. Claire, being the good friend couldn’t say no. Besides, it wouldn’t be that bad if she had Monica with her right? It was only for a summer after all. Claire was loud, outgoing, opinionated, spunky, daring, sarcastic, stubborn, and well, argumentative. Marshal wasn’t thrown off track at first. He had seen pretty girls before, even if few were as pretty as this girl. He wasn’t interested in someone with ‘half a brain’ and even if he was, his career was more important now. He could certainly find a pretty girl with a low IQ then if that’s what he wanted. He greeted the girls and took their bags to the muggle car he was to drive them to the Ambassadors home in. The girls didn’t really pay attention to him until he made the mistake of muttering something about how shallow modeling was. He hadn’t meant for the girls to hear him, but Claire had. Claire couldn’t stand stereotypes, and she had been hit on by the photographer earlier that day who just assumed the models would sleep with him so he would choose their pictures. He had earned a swift kick in a not-so-pleasant area before Claire walked out of the photo-shoot. Most days she would have only had a snide comment to that, but poor Marshal picked the wrong day to irritate Claire Sinclair. Her temper flared up and she yelled at him for a good twenty minutes about how he was an ignorant, stereotyping jerk, who needed to learn something about people before insulting them without letting him get a word in edgewise. Marshal was in love by the end of her speech. He was also irritated though, that this girl dare talk to him like that. So he argued back, and the two never stopped arguing.
They eloped six months after their first argument took place. Which was less then two months after Claire finally agreed to date him. His mother was pleased by his choice until she heard her speak. She was shocked at what had come out of the young lady’s mouth, but his father loved her. In time, so did the mother, even if she was apprehensive at first. They had planned on holding off on children until Marshal got into his career. Their plans were shot to hell when Dustin showed up 11 months later. The twins came after Marshal’s career was set in place. He was an Italian Ambassador at this time, though Claire went home to have the twins. The three children spent ten years of their childhood in Italy. (Though Dustin was at school two of those years.) Because they lived in Italy Claire learned to speak fluent Italian. (Her brother and sister know some, but they aren’t fluent.) When they turned ten Marshal became the official Spain Ambassador. (For various political reasons that would be too boring to describe.) Emily spends her summers there and has since learned Spanish fluently. (It’s not that hard to pick up if you’re fluent in Italian.) She’s also learning French from her mother. Less then a year later the twins went off to Hogwarts and were sorted into separate houses.
As kids Emily and Lucy were much closer then they are now. They were opposites even as children, but then it didn’t matter. If the kids were picking on one of them, they both had their sisters to protect them. (Dustin was there too. He could stop the bullies, but not the other little girls when they teased the twins.) Em and Lu are still close, despite their differences. They just aren’t as close as they were when they were children.
|{ OTHER INFO }
RP EXAMPLE: [As Lily in I couldn’t Sleep] She hadn't been sure what to expect. She wasn't sure if he was going to pull away or kiss her back. It was an awkard situation, what with his best friend stalking her and all. However, he did kiss her back. His hands were placed (ever so gently) on either side of her neck, but after a moment he pulled away. She looked at him waiting for him to say something. He certainly looked like he had something to say, but when no words came out he brushed some of her hair out of her face and kissed her again, and she kissed him back. He seemed reluctant, Lily could tell. (She had kissed a few boys before they were scared off by Potter or they started to bore her.) It was then she knew they weren't going to go anywhere with this. She enjoyed her kiss while it lasted though. After about a minute or so he pulled away, but he was still very close. He looked extremely guilty. Like he had just been doing something very wrong. She knew then why he had seemed so reluctant. She was about to tell him not to worry about it when she heard that annoyingly familiar voice and nearly jumped. Damn. She now felt a small fraction of what Remus was feeling. Like she had been doing something wrong. Which was stupid, and she didn't let it show at all. When the person the voice had come from realized what exactly was going on the atmosphere in the room changed very suddenly.
She didn't turn right away as the silence filled the room. Instead she read the expression on Remus's face. The guilt was overwhelming. He looked like a child who was about to be yelled at by his father for something he knew was wrong. (Even though, in this case, it wasn't.) His father, whom he looked up to and adored. His father who he had disappointed. Lily knew nothing could ever come between them now. Remus was far too loyal to James. She had known that when they had been kissing too. Not because it wasn't a good kiss (because it was) but because of who Remus was. This was just one more thing Remus felt he didn't deserve because he was a werewolf. Lily's eyes flashed with anger when James finally spoke in a very cold tone. (A tone she had heard very few times coming from his mouth, and all those times had been in defense of her or one of his friends to a Slytherin.) How dare he treat Remus like this. Could he not see how awful he felt? Remus would do anything for him, anything. Including turning Lily down when obviously he was interested. (Wow, she sounded just like Potter there- but she had reason to think that! Remus had kissed her back.)
She whipped her head around when Remus stood up and started walking towards James. She also stood up, but she didn't make any moves towards them. The three of them were standing in a triangle now. Which was kind of ironic... Lily's eyes flashed back and forth between the two unsure of what to do. She knew she needed to smooth things out between James and Remus, but she also wanted to yell at James for being such a jerk. Remus had done nothing wrong. Even if Remus kissing her was wrong due to some sort of code, she had been the one to kiss him first. She looked at the two waiting for one of them to speak first. ANSWER: The whole ‘deathly hallows’ thing. I mean, come on! The horcruxes aren’t good enough? OTHER:
