If you would like to participate in Flying Class, please fill out and post the following sign-up form in this thread. Flying Class is compulsory only for First Year students- for all other grades it is an optional, extra credit class with the purpose of expanding on previously learned skills.
Flying classes are, unlike other subjects, divided into skill levels as opposed to grade levels. There are no OWL or NEWT examinations for flying, and thus there are no minimum requirements necessary to take this class. The four divisions for Flying class are: Advanced, Intermediate, Beginner and First Year.
First Year Class- Obviously for First Years only. Compulsory unless special reasons are stated and discussed with school authorities. School robes should be worn for this class.
Beginner Class- Targeted specifically at Second and Third Year students who wish to continue flying after having experienced the First Year class. Beginner students from higher grades may take this class as well, however, if they feel that their skill level is below Intermediate. There is no dress code for this class.
Intermediate Class- Targeted specifically at Fourth and Fifth Year students who are of a reasonably skillful standard in flight. Students from both higher and lower grades may take this class as well, however, if they feel that their skill levels are either higher than Beginner or lower than Advanced. There is no dress code for this class.
Advanced Class- Targeted specifically at Sixth and Seventh Year students who are of a very high standard in flight. A good deal of aptitude on a broomstick must be shown to be able to take this class, though students from lower grades may take this class if they are adept enough to be of a higher standard than both Beginner and Intermediate. Recommended for the slightly more skilled Quidditch players as well. It is also advised that Quidditch robes (of any kind) be worn for this class, if possible.
The recommended year levels for each class are guidelines only, with the exception of the First Year class. Students in year levels different to those which are advised in the class divisions may still apply to that class if they so choose.

Why are you taking this class?: I love flying. I've been flying a broom since I was young and have always been elated by the feeling. I'm good with flying, but there's always more to learn.
What do you hope to gain from this class?: How to fly better. I'm good, but I could be so much better.

Why are you taking this class?: I've been playing quidditch since I was old enough to walk, and flying has just been a part of me. I'm on the quidditch team, and while I'm good, there's so much more I could learn to get even better.
What do you hope to gain from this class?: A better understanding of flying so I can improve my quidditch skills.

Why are you taking this class?: Though I wasn't raised with quidditch, I still enjoy the game. I still find football to be much more intriguing, but flying is awesome. I'm pretty decent, being on the quidditch team, but there's more I can learn to improve my quidditch performance.
What do you hope to gain from this class?: A more advanced knowledge of flying, so I can be a better quidditch player. Plus I'm sure it wouldn't hurt me to know how to be really good on a broomstick later in life.

Why are you taking this class?: Well, I love flying. I don't care too much that I may not be as good as the others my age, but I have been flying for a long time. Being able to fly around and pass it off as a lesson? That's cool. Last year I insisted on staying in beginner even though most of my friends moved up to Intermediate because I didn't want to push myself too hard, but this year I'm trying out Intermediate.
What do you hope to gain from this class?: A better knowledge of healing. Not that I want to be a healer, but it’ll be nice to know what to do with myself next time I fall into a hay-stack…

Why are you taking this class?:I love flying! I feel more at home on a broom then I do just walking the corridors. I've been playing quidditch ever since I could try to pronounce the word, and have been playing the position of beater ever since my brothers handed me a bat one day.
What do you hope to gain from this class?:How to better control my broom when I'm not holding it with my hands. It's pretty good, but still a rocky ride.

Why are you taking this class?: Well, maybe I'm not the best flyer out there, and maybe not the best at competition in general, but I do enjoy spending time in the air! It gives me a great, free kind of feeling, and I'm interested in getting more of that!
What do you hope to gain from this class?: More time in the air, and I think it's an already guaranteed sort of want.

Why are you taking this class?: Kayleigh has been flying practically since she was born. Flying is her passion; it is almost an obsession for her. Flying class is the perfect class for Kayleigh because it is what she loves to do. It is the one class she usually doesn’t mind doing homework for.
What do you hope to gain from this class?: Kayleigh works tirelessly at home on her skill as a flyer and practices each quidditch position. She knows that she flies well however; she can still improve. Kay always is eager to learn new techniques and more about flying which she hopes Professor Callaghan can teach her.

Why are you taking this class?: Kadey loves flying so why shouldn't she take lessons? She could always learn more, and she feels the need to have a fun lesson like this one where she can relax and unwind. Plus she could use the extra practice for Quidditch.
What do you hope to gain from this class?: The ability to perform better on a broom, and to have as much fun as possible
