APPEARANCE:Michael has dark brown hair which he keeps short because it is easiest for him to maintain. It requires him to do nothing but step out of the shower in the morning and is usually dry by the time he walks to his first class. Because he is not a morning person, he can often be found sporting a little stubble or a short beard on his strong chin.

Michael is of Irish and Scottish descent and it shows in his appearance. He has dark hair and stormy eyes that shift in hue from grey to green to blue depending on the season. His eyes also seem to give him an air of intelligence. It always seems like he has something going on in his head, what that something is, one would have to be an occlumen to find out.

He has a height of 6 feet 2 inches and he uses that to his advantage. He stands while giving lectures and to a sitting down student, the height can sometimes be a little disconcerting if he is telling you off. Although, this intimidating factor may also be the result of knowledge that Michael could likely toss a student across the room with out a wand. While at Hogwarts, Michael played for his house team and has kept in very good shape ever since.

Michael has two scars. However, only one of them is seen often. In the months after he recieved his Hogwarts letter, Michael bragged to his older sister who is a muggle, she set a hot iron on his hand resulting in a small scar in the shape of a triangle on his wrist. He also has a long scar along one of his shoulders blades. This scar was recieved while doing work with Gringotts in China. While exploring a temple, a trap was set off and Michael had a small axe lodged into his back.

PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Michael unfortunately inhertited the "Irish Temper" from his father. He is quick to flare up but, over the years he has reigned in the impulse to blow up. Luckily, the Catholic guilt he inhertited from his mother taught him to try to keep his temper in check. Now the only thing that sets him off is disrespect. He tends to overlook most disrespect between students but he will not allow anyone to disrespect him.

In contrast however, Michael loves to teach. He loves to see the light enter a students eyes when something "clicks" for them. It makes him feel as though he is doing something truely great. He would go to any length for a student that is willing to work hard. He sometimes gets frustrated when students don't get the concept as easily as he would like but, as long as he can see the students put in the effort, he will work through that frustration until both sides are happy.

Generally, he has his heart in the right place when his temper doesn't get away from him. Michael truely wants his students to do well but, doesn't want to make things too easy for them. He sees the reward in working hard and wants his students to understand that as well. Unfortunately, it's one of the many things he can't teach them in the classroom.

Michael has strong opinions about right and wrong. Often, he is seen as stubborn because he is unwilling to compromise on his positions but if he can tell no side will win no matter how hard both sides argue, he'll stop. He won't tell the other person that he agrees with them, his rule of thumb for his peers is: "Agree to disagree, for now"

WHATS IN THE PAST:Michael was the seond born of his family. His sister Shelia had no magical ability and therefore did not recieve a leter from Hogwarts. However, Michael and his sister Morgan and brother Brandon all showed talent at a young age. When he first recieved his Hogwarts letter, there was a great deal of resentment between Michael and his older sister. There was jealousy on her part and Michael didn't help maters by flaunting his letter every chance he got. He had never intended to make her feel bad, he was just so proud of himself.

Once he arrived at Hogwarts, his temper and strong opinions got him into trouble now and then. He always showed the upmost respect for his teachers however, his fellow students weren't always so lucky. Michael delighted in proving people he didn't like wrong for his first year of school. Then he discovered quidditch.

Growing up with a wizard father, Michael had always been around the game but, he had never been on a formal team until his second year of school. Even then he was only second string. In his fourth year, when the former keeper graduated, Michael got his chance.

After graduation, Michael worked with Gringotts in various countries translating the runes in temples before treasure was removed. When he was 29 a trap was set off in a Chinese temple and he was injured. He had a small axe embedded in his back and decided to change careers. He then applied for a job at Hogwarts and worked as an assistant to the former teacher for two years before taking up the post full time.

RP EXAMPLE: Knox couldn't miss the obvious disgust Blair had for the subway. He couldn't blame her. it was dirty and gross but, it was also fast. There was no sitting in traffic. Still, it was a sacraifice Knox would make to make Blair happy. "We'll take a cab then. No metro for you. And here I thought I left the princesses back in England." Knox teased her.

Considering that he was going to ask Blair to step far outside her comfort zone later, Knox decided not to push her too hard to early. It would be easy enough to get a cab. Of course, it made the walk across campus unnessecary.

"I won't make you take the metro." Knox promised. "And I won't tell you where we're going. Go ahead and make plans for me. No one said you have to follow my plan, I don't have to follow yours." he said with a grin.

Though, Knox was curious. What exactly did Blair have going in that pretty little head of hers? He hoped it was something good. He could make it an effort to find out later, probably would, simply to satisfy his curiousity. It could nag at him later if he never found out what she was thinking.

"Come on." Knox directed Blair, having flagged down a cab. He held the door open for her to enter first. It was one of those things Knox did without thinking. It may be old fashioned but, it never ceased to charm a girl.

Knox scribbled an adress on a scrap of paper and handed it to the driver. The drive would be far but, it would give him the chance to talk to Blair more, get to know what was going inside that head of hers. "It's no private driver but, it's better than the subway." Knox told her with a grin.

"So, Miss Blair, I'll tell you more about my plans, if you tell me yours first." Knox offered. He was still deciding how much to tell her. Currently the plan was telling her just enough to satisfy her curiosity but not give anything away if that was possible. The Brit doubted Blair would be satisfied with an evasive answer but, that was why Knox was going to make her go first.
ANSWER: Snape being hott for Harry's mom way before Hogwarts.
