APPEARANCE:
When Cooper started Hogwarts he was not only a nerd, but he looked the part too. He had a bad haircut, glasses, acne, and a bit awkward looking. He has however definitely grown out of that. He got contact lens a few years ago, and his acne seemed to clear up overnight almost. He learned to style his blonde hair (thanks to his mother and sister) and he seemed to grow into his body. He’s now definitely in the category of good looking. He’s even got a bit of a pretty boy look to him.

Cooper is practically a spitting image of his father as far as his facial features go. He did however get his hair color from his mother. (His father also wasn’t really nerdy looking in his early years.) His dark blue eyes are a very Dawson like trait though, something all of the Dawson siblings inherited. His hair is on the short side, though it’s not a buzz cut and is usually styled in a casual sort of way.

Despite the fact that he is a total nerd, Cooper happens to be pretty well in shape. Even though the boy would rather sit inside and read a book, he’s been taught to play Quidditch since both his mother and father were on the house team. He didn’t take enough of a liking to it to join the team; he does however love to fly. He’ll go out on rides on an almost regular basis, and he’s not a half bad flyer. He also jogs a few times a week. His sister got him into this habit, and even though they don’t run together that often anymore, he still finds it nearly as relaxing to go on a nice jog as it is to go out for a fly. Because of these habits he’s gotten rather muscular. He’s also on the tall side of things, though not as tall as some many guys, he can look intimidating when he wants to. He’s grown up quite a bit from the scrawny, nerdy looking thirteen year old who attended Hogwarts four years ago.

PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION:
Not many people really know Cooper very well. Cooper is a very quiet person. This isn’t because he’s shy though. He simply doesn’t find it necessary to talk if he’s got nothing worth while to say. He will however talk to you if you talk to him no matter who you are, though you’ve got to be good if you’re going to get him really talking. He is also a very sweet guy. He’s not big on talking, but he is a good listener. In fact, this might be what makes him a good listener. He always has an open ear, and he’s rather sympathetic towards any sort of problem.

This has accumulated him a decent number of female friends over the years, and he doesn’t seem to mind it. He often thinks of them in a very brotherly way, and is rather protective of them. He’s extremely protective over those he cares about. Particularly his happy go-lucky younger sister. He feels the need to protect her and any of his other female friends. He won’t stand for any guy trying to take advantage of them, and he WILL stand up for them no matter the guy. His sister though seems to get the protection taken to a whole new level. Any guy who even seems the slightest bit interested in Danielle get’s the ‘big brother intervention.’ He has however lightened up a bit due to her pleading and realizing she is in fact growing up. (Not to mention the fact that in America she began dating his best friend.) He does however still feel the guy should have his approval, and if a guy were to hurt Danielle he’d have Cooper to answer to.

Most people don’t see the protective side of Cooper however. Most people see the boy for what he truly is, a nerd. Cooper has always been far more interested in reading and learning than playing Quidditch or running around outside. Cooper is extremely smart, and he’s rarely with out a book. He definitely has what it takes to be an Auror. He’s good at DADA among other subjects, and he’s protective. But that’s never been Cooper’s dream. Cooper has always been the guy to ask for help if you just can’t get the Charm right, if you can’t remember what year that one Goblin War was, or if you can’t understand your Arithmancy homework to save your life. Not only is he smart, but he has a knack for explaining things to people rather well. Cooper had always expected that someday he’d be an Auror even though that wasn’t really his dream. A few years ago though someone told Cooper he should be a professor when he was tutoring them, and the idea seemed to stick with him. Instead of using his knack for DADA by being an Auror, he realized he would be much happier teaching the subject. He has yet to tell his family (other than Dani) this because everyone expects him to carry on the family tradition, and be an Auror. Cooper wants to please his father quite a bit, and so he’s kept his dream hidden inside him.

WHATS IN THE PAST:
Robert and Beth met during their final year at Hogwarts. Robert collided into Beth during a Quidditch match and knocked the Hufflepuff off her broom, and the Gryffindor felt incredibly guilty. Beth tried to tell him it was fine, no harm done, but Robert decided that he had to make it up too her. The two began dating soon after that, and they’re just as in love now as they were the day they met. They married six months after graduation and had Cooper and Braiden 11 months after that. Then, in another 10 months they had Danielle.

Cooper has never really gotten along well with his twin brother. While most people who have twins tend to be close, Cooper and Braiden are from it. The two have always been compared to each other, and neither one of them likes it. Braiden chooses to slack off, and misbehave. Cooper always wanted to please his parents, so he was more or less the perfect child who studied and did as he was told. Braiden blames Cooper for their parents looking down on him, and Cooper blames Braiden for their parents expecting so much from him. The Dawson family has had seven generations of Aurors. Every one expects Cooper to carry on the tradition since even if Braiden wanted to he couldn’t because of his grades, and Cooper resents Braiden for that. He is however very close to his younger sister Danielle. Cooper sees the side of her that most people don’t see. She’s a very happy, bubbly person, but he also see’s the more serious side. He see’s her protective streak, and he knows about her recently acquired dream to be the one to carry on the family tradition. Though he’s very protective of her, and would hate to see her do something that put’s her in danger he sympathizes with her, because she’s afraid to tell their parents too. Don’t get it wrong, they love their parents very much, they’re just so desperate to please them that it interferes with what they want to do.

When Cooper was a child he attended muggle school with his brother and sister as their mother wanted them too. (The previous children in the Dawson family were usually homeschooled, but since Beth was a muggleborn, she wanted her children to have that experience.) Cooper was rather nerdy at even such a young age, and he tended to stay to himself other than when he talked to his sister. He was picked on a little bit, but he didn’t let it bother him too much. He didn’t really care if he had friends if he got to read on the playground instead. (He did however stand up to the school bully once when he was picking on Dani, and the kids on the playground got to see the tough side of Cooper Dawson. Nobody messed with him or Dani after that.) When Cooper was 11 he went to Hogwarts as most wizarding boys in Britain do. He spent his first two years at Hogwarts, where he started to come out of his shell a little bit. His father was abruptly transferred to America, a week after he started his third year so he and his siblings transferred to the American Academy for Witch’s and Wizard’s. Here he came out of shell almost completely. He was still quiet, but he was more friendly when people approached him, and even gained a few really close friends such as Ryan Jimmenson.

However at the end of his sixth year the Auror department in Britain requested that he be transferred back, so the family moved back to their house in Britain. (The same house they had lived in before, they hadn’t sold it.) Now Cooper is beginning his final school year at Hogwarts.

RP EXAMPLE:
Cooper sat on the porch of his house waiting for Abby. The two had decided to meet in the morning to exchange Christmas presents away from the prying eyes of everyone else. Neither had flat out said to be alone while they did it, but that's why they had planned to do it at an hour that most people would be asleep.

The past few days of spending all his time with Abby had been amazing. Walking back a ways as the rest of his family trailed off ahead before them even if Josh had kept trying to talk to Abby had been wonderful. Even Alexander Thomas being there with his sister hadn't been able to ruin his vacation. He had spent time interrogating Alex the first night, and he seemed okay. Why did he have to choose Danielle though? Why? Sure, they had both said that day that they weren't dating. They had said they were only friends.

He knew that Alex liked her though. There wasn't a doubt in his mind that Alex liked her. Still, the only thing wrong with him he had been able to find was that Abby wasn't very fond of him. Even that wasn't enough though, because she had confessed that he had changed.

All thoughts of Alex left his mind as he heard the door open. He turned around and there she was. His Abby. "Good morning," he said smiling not specifically at her, but more so because she was here. He had two small wrapped boxes next to him. The one with the ribbon on it was to be opened last.
ANSWER: That they didn’t go back to Hogwarts! I know why they didn’t, but I had really been hoping they would!
