{ About The CHARACTER }
x Sebastian Duvalle"Bastian"
CANNON OR ORIGINAL: Original YEAR: 7th AGE: 18 DOB: September, 16th RACE: Human GENDER: Male SEXUALITY: Heterosexual WAND: 13 ½, acromantula heartstring, willow tree, flexible BROOM: Doesn’t have one, flying doesn’t interest him. PET: He has an owl at Hogwarts, Adelais, and a small snake back at home, Deacon.
APPEARANCE: He is rather ominous-looking and he gives off danger in his style. His attitude shows he is prone and willing to take risks in order to attain what he desires. And he desires quite many things. He has vibrant gray-blue eyes which most of the time glimmer with a different emotion sometimes, but on most occasions it is slyness and selfishness. There is almost always a distinct sparkle in his eyes. His thick dark eyebrows are furrowed, especially when he concentrates much on people. A smirk can be found playing around his lips, which are nicely shaped, neither thin nor full, but with two attractive arcs in the region between his upper lip and the philtrum. His nose is straight and medium-sized. His ears are a little wider than the average type, but nothing that would be too odd or peculiar.
He has a goatee in his chin, going down his neck a bit from time to time, and which goatee he likes to keep unshaved most of the times, giving him a challenging rugged look. He is not crazy over outfits really and he will wear what makes him most comfortable; on good events, however, he is careful indeed of his appearance. He is not much interested at sports but he keeps a nice shape nonetheless. He is tall, but not exceedingly so; slim, but not much athletically so, although he is muscular indeed. Though he doesn’t belong to the ‘aristocratic’ societies of the wizarding community, he gives off a rather debonaire feeling, and perhaps he looks sophisticated at his best. His hair is dark brown and he keeps it short but he might as well let it grow a little more when he is untidy. He might as well have it falling elegantly –though not deliberately so- over his eyes. Apathy is displayed in his eyes which fade and give his whole face a rather mundane and boring complexion, in addition to his lazy drawl.
His voice is kind of gruff, though somehow smooth at the same time. He’s got a sort of a baritone with his vocals. When he laughs, it is mostly ironic and sarcastic, but at times he can laugh with his heart at a good joke or at a good prank. It should be added that he has white, medium-sized teeth which hardly show when he doesn’t speak because he doesn’t laugh all the time. FACE CLAIM:Ian Somerhalder
PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Sebastian is selfish. He might have not been brought up in the ‘aristocratic’ families of the wizarding community, still he grew up to be selfish, being an only child, and quite arrogant in fact. He is self-centered and egotistical insofar his own needs and wants are concerned, and he seeks how to satisfy them, ignoring most of the time other people’s desires, deciding not to pay the least attention to them. He is presumptuous and cold and most of the times bitter and unkind. He will not care about other’s feelings and emotions; he will express what is on his mind, even if that means making offensive comments to people, not because of his good-hearted pre-disposition to see them ameliorate, but because it does not interest him whether they will get hurt by it or not. That is the truth –the truth of his eyes, at least- and he has better things to do rather than waste his time consoling someone for their foibles and faults. He is, furthermore, hardly responsible at all, with no real sense of discipline and rule abidance.
One of the obvious features of his personality that stands out is his total apathy when it comes to situations, matters, or people. Characteristics of his nature are his rude and insulting ignorance, the meanness of opinions, the distressing carelessness of manner and the easy indifference which he displays wittingly. He is ostensibly phlegmatic, superficially unconcerned and outwardly nonchalant; he’s really the embodiment of blasé. He is indeed a bad boy, however he does not go around jinxing people for the sake of fun, not because he pities them (on the contrary, they don’t quite stir his interest) but because he feels full unresponsiveness at most, and does not want to waste his time on them really, unless it regards someone truly challenging; in that case, he would confront them, if he considered them to rise to his calibre.
He is quite a womanizer, too. He will go with girls –he wouldn’t call it ‘dating’ per se, he hates the term because it implies affability he has no affinity with- and hurt them, and he still would not care. He has given great extent to the pleasure of the senses, he’s quite an epicurean, and he absolutely dislikes having connections and bonds with them. He likes the way he is, a bachelor, could be said, enjoying flesh but not the person who is inside. He is not possessive with girls, not when he isn’t bothered with them. His intention when he is with them is not to hurt them; however, they almost always do because he leaves them uncared for and neglected after he has used them for his own various pleasures. Their pain does not really cause him any trouble, however, and he goes on his life normally as though nothing serious has ever happened. He tends to be lascivious, reaching the border of a sybaritic person, though he is not salacious in the crude sense of the word.
He is immensely capricious and whimsical and will resort to many actions in order to satisfy his incessant whims. He has an aversion to girls who are of lower “breed” than what is demanded of him. The only thing he ever seeks at a girl is her appearance, her beauty, and if she doesn’t have the only thing he’s after, then she is no good. He doesn’t believe men and women could ever be friends, which is why he doesn’t look for female companions other than his bed and his assorted pleasures. He is rather superficial, naturally, and his tendency to fraternise with the best girls shows how selective and parochial he is. Unsurprisingly, he believes in vanity; particularly, he is aware that vanity dominates life, dominates people’s intentions, aspirations and dreams, and thus he welcomes it and has made it part of himself. He regards himself conscious to the fact that life is short and pointless, and by savouring the many joys it can offer he will make the most out of it. He can wake up the senses in a woman and he knows exactly how to do it. Those who fall for him rarely know of his intentions to use them and abandon them next. Another feature of his personality is also his leaning to look at things realistically and never romantically. He is not a romantic whatsoever, he finds such people too ridiculous. He doesn’t even believe in love.
At times he might resort to being lonely and taciturn, perhaps even thoughtful, potentially meditating on his future, since his parents have average income and life is always unpredictable and he might thereafter find himself to be in a rather uptight situation; he has a propensity of being hostile and inimical too, especially during such times. On the other hand, he has several Slytherin companions whom he has an entertaining time with and laughs. It’s a little difficult after all to have friends when you are a Slytherin. He doesn’t lose his temper easily but he could if someone was up against him. He is secretive and doesn’t talk much about his family and some things are unknown about his past. He hates those who wish to intrude upon his personal life, especially that revolving around his childhood or his family in general. He is humorous and witty; sarcasm and irony can be shown in his voice, which tends to be taunting, acerbic and caustic. He many times speaks with adulation and scorn, and his tone can be condescending and lofty. He might be quite smooth too. Erratic at times and cynical, he is intelligent, cunning and considerably skilled with magic. Though he is not crazy about schoolwork and he might procrastinate on occasions, he knows that in order to be powerful in the wizarding community he must have good grades so that he makes it to the Ministry soon.
Something which nobody knows about him is the fact he can play the saxophone, which shows that underneath his bad-boy exterior lies a passionate lover whose fire rages, whose blood burns, whose power to conquer surges through the veins of his body. He looks rough and rugged, and he is, but he likes to keep his cool and sanity, which he does by mainting some distance. Sebastian is a proud man and haughty, socially liberated and indifferent to what the wizarding society (the lower classes in most cases) will think of him because of his capricious flings. He dislikes people who are too cheerful to happy; he finds them annoying and perhaps hypocritical, such as the Gryffindors and the Hufflepuffs. He also dislikes those who spend all their time with their nose stuck in a book; he finds them utterly boring, such as the Ravenclaws. He believes only Slytherins are interesting enough. BOGGART: A corpse PATRONUS: A fox HOPES FOR THE FUTURE: To be a prosperous member of the wizarding community; to survive; to not lose Shenea
SPECIAL ABILITIES: N/A BLOOD: Pure BIRTHPLACE: England MY FAMILY: Fergus Duvalle - Father Tryphena Duvalle - Mother WHATS IN THE PAST: Fergus Duvalle was born in 14th April 1928 and Tryphena Gamp was born in 28th October 1937. Both are common workers in the Ministry of Magic. Tryphena gave birth to Sebastian at the age of 23, when Fergus was 32, under unconvenient circumstances, in the old house of her parents, which was on the suburds of London and had underwent certain catastrophic damages. Tryphena endured the birth with the sake of a maiden, since her parents had died in the disastrous Great Smog of 1952, which had lasted five days and had killed over four thousand people.
The commencement of the decade of 1960 in which Sebastian was born quite funnily meant that there was a revolution in ethics, which encompassed amongst others the worshipping of youth and the imposition of youthful culture, liberation in relationships, and the reduction of birthrates. Tryphena could observe from her many walks in the centre of London that a new era had arrived, walks which she took with her child, carefully placed inside his cradle. Suddenly everybody started wearing colourful and extravagant clothes, an air of hedonism and pleasure became palpable and London began to ‘swing’. London at this time had its own unique atmosphere, a heady hallucinogenic gas that induced a feeling of well-being and sensitivity to colour. Tryphena of couse disapproved of all this and dared not imagine her child would be as such; indeed, Sebastian was born in that era and he had just the same light-hearted view on relationships, pleasure and liberation.
Sebastian grew up in the bourgeoisie, the proletarian class, where life was harder than that the rich societies led in the higher classes of the wizarding community. They were certainly not poor, but average, and that meant Sebastian was to be bothered about money at times, when his father would be lazying around, tired of his job, and his mother would work hard to ensure nothing ever missed from Sebastian’s life. As years elapsed, they gathered a small fortune, which made Sebastian even more spoilt than he already had been.
When Sebastian was three years old, his mother got pregnant again and gave birth to the child; unfortunately, the newcomer passed away two days after it had come to the world. Sebastian has a certain image clicked to his mind: him, so small and innocent, standing covertly by the door, half-hidden, looking at his mother lying on the bed with the medi-witch next to her, pulling a blanket over the dead body of his brother.
He received the letter from Hogwarts at the age of eleven and he could not wait to go to Hogwarts, not so much for studying, which was something he did not care so much, but so that he would get away from the miserable situation of his family. He blamed his parents for making him live as such, and not dining in golden spoons as other children did. He felt they were responsible for him missing some things, though nothing really ever missed from his life; he was just spoiled, arrogant and self-centered. He doesn’t talk about his parents much and the conversation near his family will surely be heated and get him short-tempered. He did not have a nasty childhood, but for him it was. He accused his parents for not being wealthy so that they could have an upstanding place in the wizarding world. When Sebastian entered Hogwarts he grew distant of his parents, who continued to pay and cater for everything he needed of course. He now really dislikes them, he rarely talks to them and feels aversion whenever and wherever they are concerned, and that will never change.

RP EXAMPLE: The clock in the Slytherin Common Room struck midnight, just as the portrait swang open and Sebastian made his entrance. The Slytherin common room was situated under the Black Lake, which explains why it had a considerable amount of humidity in the ceiling, up which hovered variously-sized green lamps. The fire was crackling in the fireplace and warmth was emitted throughout the entire room, which was darkly lit and almost vacant. Some female giggles were heard outside of the portrait as Sebastian entered the room, and a smirk filled with menace and self-satisfaction rose up in his cheeks. He was wearing a white shirt, which was close at his neck, around which a chain was visible, bearing an intricate picture. There was also a leather wristband around his hand along with a plain silver ring in the finger of his left hand. He had a goatee on his chin and around his cheeks, which he kept unshaved due to his boredom. His gray-blue eyes were faded with languor as a self-pleasing exression was in his face.
He walked over to the fireplace, warmed his hands, and then seconds after he complacently threw himself on a black, leather couch, his feet lying spread-eagled across the croach's arm. Sebastian Duvalle had spent yet another sinful day with his female companions, and sinful it was. Of course, he had finally acknowledged, even to himself, things were rather tentative with Nene at the moment but if she was going to be like that, he had every right to enjoy the night with the sweet pleasure of girls, only to their exploitation, for old time's sake. He had no inclination to remove such 'rituals' from his schedule, as a true epicurean, especially when Nene was being so stubborn and overly proud. It was a bad combination with Sebastian, because he had the same personality traits. He would refuse, even to himself, that his feelings for Nene had altered through the course of the months from indifferent to particular - but perhaps he was too unwilling and even intimidated to admit such a significant change. He rested his head against his right arm, which he placed on the pillow, and closed his eyes, confused over everything; he hated being confused. He loved when everything was clear and he had his goals set out for him. Seduction and then abandonment. Lethal combination. But this was Sebastian. Bad habits simply don't die. ANSWER: Fred Weasley.
