{ About The CHARACTER }
x Ted Anthony Tonks"Teddy"
CANNON OR ORIGINAL: Canon YEAR: 7th AGE: 17 DOB: August 19th, 1960 RACE: Caucasian GENDER: Male SEXUALITY: heterosexual WAND: Almond, 13 inches, Essence of Phoenix tail feather BROOM: Red Arrow PET: A soft, grey and white cat named Simone
APPEARANCE: Ted is fairly tall at 6’ 2”, but he is also wiry and stringy- although if he takes after his father he has the chance of becoming quite plump when he's older. Despite his string-bean sort of look, Ted carries himself easily and gracefully, having a perfect sense of balance. He has been occasionally coveted as a Quiddich player because of just these traits, but he has always refused, not wanting the pressure of all those people depending on him He keeps his hair short simply because it's more flattering on him then long hair ever will be. He doesn’t do much to it- but he does care, and keeps it combed and orderly. His hair is naturally straight and a light golden-blond that acquires small lighter streaks in the summer just because he stays outside so much.
Ted has a very pretty face- and he hates it. His jaw line is the only masculine thing about it-even his nose is pretty. This, perhaps, is only exacerbated by his sparkling blue eyes- always containing what looks like a joking glint even in moments of utter seriousness. They are surrounded by a fringe of long, light brown eyeleashes and even a few laugh lines. Though the girls seem to be rather attracted to his pretty-boy looks, he tries to avoid overly-pampering himself to keep a masculine air about him. His fashion sense represents both his anti-femme persona and his muggle upbringing. He doesn’t like wearing robes unless forced to by the dress code during class times- indeed, he doesn’t wear his uniform unless forced to. His regular wardrobe is very relaxed. Overall, the boy has a completely personable appearance- perhaps not the most entrancing in the school- after all, some of his best friends ARE some of the most entrancing boys in the school- but he often can seem all the more attractive because he isn’t an untouchable Adonis- he just LOOKS friendly. FACE CLAIM: Ryan Gosling
PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Ted is outgoing and friendly to almost everyone, even the people who scorn him for being a muggleborn. Though, if these people push it too far, he will not hesitate to defend himself in any way necessary. His temper is normally subdued, but his honor and worth as a person are the two things that he will defend almost to the point of physical confrontation. This being said, Ted is always the one to walk away from a fight if it is going too far, and if the other person starts a physical tussle, he will not defend himself and just let the other person get in trouble.
With his friends, Teddy is a happy person, always joking and fooling around. He would much rather be hanging around with his friends then doing schoolwork. This often gets him into trouble with his teachers- but nevertheless, Ted is a talented wizard who managed mostly E's and A's on his O.W.L’s. He simply seems to glide through school easily and happily.
Ted is very fond of muggles as a general rule, seeing as his parents are both muggles. In fact, he has kept up with many of his muggle friends from his childhood, although they have no idea what he is. It isn't an obsessive liking, but he understands muggles and why they do what they do. It’s quite amazing to some of his pureblood friends, this understanding, and often tell their friend that he has a gift for relating to muggles. BOGGART: a field of innocent muggles slaughtered because of a mistake of his PATRONUS: Giraffe HOPES FOR THE FUTURE:Ted has a solid job waiting for him in Muggle relations, thanks to Dumbledore, if he keeps his grades up as high as they have been thus far.
SPECIAL ABILITIES:n/a BLOOD: muggleborn BIRTHPLACE: Hackney, England MY FAMILY: William Tonks (father) Elspeth Tonks (mother) WHATS IN THE PAST: Ted was born into a normal English family as an only child. Quiet, unassuming, and utterly unaware of the wizarding world, his childhood was spent with his muggle friends playing football and chasing girls around the playground. When it came time for Ted to be in 6th grade, he got a letter about a school of magic. He was ecstatic, realizing that this is the reason odd things had been happening around him, from his milk suddenly being chocolate flavored to a lost footie ball flying out of the brush and into his hands.
The letter, of course, was a total shock to his parents. After their initial reaction, they threw themselves enthusiastically into their son's new education. To them, though, it was a letter offering a full scholarship to a very private, seemingly legitimate private school that would offer him a job in the Prime Minister’s office after graduation if the boy did well. Ted, once arriving, figured out quickly that to many people, he wasn't a real wizard. He was a mudblood, a dirty thing. Through his first year at school, he got in many fights over insults to his parents and himself, but by his fifth and sixth years, he learned to control his temper (mostly) about these things.
Ted's true gift is in interacting with Muggles- his only O in his O.W.L.'s was in Muggle studies. He had no doubts as to where he was going after school- the only question in his life is who would accompany him in that future.
{ OTHER INFO }
RP EXAMPLE: Ted walked over to the table where his mother had sat down Andromeda and dropped down in the chair across from her. His grin widened a little as he leaned in to Andromeda and muttered in a low voice that couldn't be heard over the pervasive sounds of the city around them.
"Sorry about all that muggle lingo earlier. Basically mum said we needed to bring an umbrella so we don't get pelted with the stupid winter rain London's famous for." He grimaced a bit before smiling brightly. "We should probably get going though- If we want to get up to Piccadilly and then see the palace and all that. We'll be taking the above-ground train there, which isn't that different from the Express." He paused and then stood up, gesturing for Andromeda to follow him.
As he took the umbrella out of the stand by the door and took his battered leather jacket off the coat rack, he continued. "We'll be taking the underground around the city, though. That should be an experience in itself." Ted hadn't stopped smiling, and he called out to his mother that the two were leaving.
True to form, the rain had started coming down in a mild drizzle that never the less required an umbrella. The blonde boy opened the umbrella on the porch with a grimace. It seemed as if every other soul in London had a nice solid black or blue umbrella- except his mother of course. Hers was mostly clear with a spattering of adorable little yellow ducklings marching around it in circles.
He held it up above Andromeda and himself as he began to walk towards the train station. After a few moments, Ted spoke, pointing out certain things around town. "I live in Hackney, easily the busiest and grungy part of London. Proud of it too. We have a very distinctive accent, but I've learned how to talk right pretty at Hogwarts. Plus, pronouning a spell with a Hackney accent makes things go oddly wrong sometimes." Ted paused and smiled. "Though I might be persuaded to show you if you really wanted to hear me talk like a native." ANSWER: *ostentatious sobbing* I FREAKING DIE. AND SO DOES MY DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND AND awwwwwww *sad face* OTHER:
