APPEARANCE: Kayleigh has short blonde hair that is approximately chin length. Her blonde hair is slightly longer if she puts in the effort to straighten it however, it mostly hangs in loose waves around her face. More often than not, she allows it to dry on her way to class and not worry if it gets messy. Luckily, the cool climate of Hogwarts does not make for frizzy hair. However, the change in sunlight with the alternating seasons creates different shades of blonde in Kayleigh's hair. In the summer, the color becomes very light, with more highlights sprinkled through it; then, in the winter, the shade darkens.

Her blonde hair frames an angular face. Kayleigh has high cheek bones that accent the planes of her face. Yet, the most dominating feature of her face is her blue eyes. Once again, the shade alters but, based on Kayleigh's mood not her surroundings. Her eyes can vary anywhere from grey to indigo. Kay also has a dazzling smile with her straight, white teeth. She is often laughing, joking and smiling but, she knows when to be serious. When she is concentrating or frustrated, her eyebrows draw together and a indented line forms between them.

The blonde stands at about 5' 8' and is very slender. Her thin frame is not brittle however. After growing up with 3 older brothers, Kayleigh learned how to handle herself and has muscle on her thin frame. That muscle was strengthened by running and quidditch, two things that Kay enjoys. The pinkie of her left hand is bends inward as a result of breaking it while playing quidditch in the yard with her brothers. She also has a small scar on her left shoulder blade, also from following off a broom.

PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION:
Kayleigh has a bit of a complex personality. She doesn’t always react the way people expect. Nearly everyone at Hogwarts knows that Kayleigh has a temper. Her temper is a bit violent but, usually, she can keep it confined to throwing objects that won’t hurt anyone. Her brother, Seamus and her father have the same type of temper and she learned how best to control it from them. No one at Hogwarts has ever seen Kay truly lose her temper though they may think they have. Kayleigh’s temper gets set off when people lie to her or disrespect her. She hates liars more than anything else. Kay is also very protective of her friends. Anyone that hurts her friends feels some of the force of her temper.

The rest of the time, Kayleigh is very laid back and easy going. She’s quick to laugh and loves to joke around with her friends. She has a very sarcastic sense of humor but, also a soft spot for dirty jokes. Like a typical Gryffindor, she loves to mess around. Sometimes she has more trouble focusing on her studies especially with parties raging in the common room. Kay enjoys parties but, she does like her downtime too. Everything in moderation is a big part of her outlook on life.

That philosophy doesn’t apply to her competitiveness though. Kayleigh is very competitive and not always a graceful loser. She throws everything she has into sports and most areas, except her studies. Kayleigh is smart, she just doesn’t allows apply herself, which is her downfall. The fact that she would rather be out, on the quidditch pitch than inside working on a homework assignment definitely shows in her essays. She is however, an active participant in class because she is very social.

Kayleigh is nice to everyone until you give her a reason not to be. Don’t think however that her sociable nature means she trusts you though, it doesn’t. It takes a long time to earn Kayleigh’s trust but, not so long to lose it. Then, it takes even longer to re-earn that trust.

HOPES FOR THE FUTURE:
Kayleigh doesn't really know what she wants to be in the future. She has a few ideas though. Kay is considering going into the Ministry, working with the department of Magical Games and Sports or the Department of Magical Law enforcement. She doesn't want to be an auror but, she does like something about the law. Magical Creatures also interest her and Kayleigh wouldn't mind working in that department either.

Her parents both hold Ministry jobs and she knows the benefits of working with the Ministry. Job security among other things but, it wouldn't be her first choice. She would like to try to become a professional quidditch player and, that would be her first choice. Still, Kayleigh knows that it is good to have a backup plan in the event of injury or not being good enough. Whatever life brings her, Kay will throw everything she has into it.

WHATS IN THE PAST: Kayleigh has always been and will always be very competitive. As a child, she never understood why her older brothers were able to do things she wasn’t. She always put herself in competition with them, whether they knew it or not. When she was five, she got a small scar on her back from falling off a broom. She was racing her brother, Seamus and fell off, into a small bush and the Murphy’s large estate.

Her family has a clearing on there property the perfect size for playing quidditch and it is hidden by lots of trees. As her brothers starting going off to Hogwarts, Kayleigh become obsessed with becoming a better quidditch player to show each of them her improvement year after year. She has a good relationship with her family. They all get along well. There is the typical sibling rivalry but, nothing beyond that. They all like to tease each other and have fun.

Kayleigh’s family is her support system along with her friends. Her family and close friends are there for her no matter what, they always have been and always will be. Her father and mother strive to teach them morals and about magic in general. Her father has taught her a lot about different magical creatures. The only time that backfired on him was when Kayleigh got burned by a dragon. It was only a small burn which left the shape of a triangle pointed toward her fingers on her hand, just above her wrist. Tyann taught all his children to respect other magical creatures as well as household pets. Kayleigh has a number of pets at home, her favorite being her golden retriever, Dublin. She wishes that Dublin could come to Hogwarts with her but, it’s against the rules unfortunately.

Since arriving at Hogwarts, Kay has little to complain about though. She’s made good friends and likes most of her teachers, even if she doesn’t enjoy their subjects. Kayleigh loves the snowball fights in the winter and the house pride. The house points bring out her competitive side and are one of the things that motivate her to stay on task when doing her work.

RP EXAMPLE:
Kayleigh walked outside through the front door with a gleam in her eyes. The first snow of the season had spread a blanket of white, 4 inches thick, over the Hogwarts campus. It was beautiful but, not Kayleigh’s primary reason for heading outside, still in her school uniform. She had raced down the grand staircase to ambush a friend coming out of the Herbology Green houses. Her school bag was casually tossed to one side of the stairs outside the front door. It didn’t matter if the bag got wet, it was water-proofed leather.

With quick stride’s Kayleigh made her way to the green houses. As students exited, she crouched down and picked up a handful of snow. Her hands turned red from cold as she compacted the snow, a grin playing around her lips. Her blue eyes scanned the crowd, looking for the one person her snow was directed at. Her younger brother, Patrick, walked out of the Greenhouses, his books tucked in his bag and a few friends with him. Kayleigh’s grin widened as she made the second snow ball. She then straightened and launched the first on straight at him. The snowball hit Patrick squarely in the shoulder and he stood in stunned silence for a moment, giving Kayleigh the opportunity to throw the second snowball, hitting him in the other shoulder. A victorious shout escaped her lips and he met her gaze.

Kayleigh gave her brother and his friends a little finger wave before bending down to collect more snow for another attack. A snowball skimmed over her head, barely missing her. Patrick looked disappointed with his miss and Kay grinned at her little brother. He returned the looked and dropped his bag, running toward her. She met him halfway and they tackled each other to the snow covered ground. With a quick move, Kayleigh managed to shove a handful of snow down Patrick’s sweater while onlookers watched and laughed at the siblings. It was tradition that Kayleigh ambushed Patrick on the first snowfall and the other 4th year Hufflepuff’s were used to it by then. After a few minutes, Kay and Patrick stood up, grinning at each other. He picked up his bag while Kayleigh wrapped an arm around his snowy shoulders and ruffled his hair. “Let’s go get some soup, I’m cold now.” She told him, causing laughter to erupt from his mouth. The boy wrapped an arm around her shoulders as well and she took that to mean his agreement as they headed toward the Great Hall for lunch.

ANSWER: I was shocked that Snape had been in love with Harry's mom even before Hogwarts.
