Jude Deverell Howard
"Judey"
CANNON OR ORIGINAL: Original
YEAR: Seventh
AGE: Seventeen
DOB: 28th July
RACE: Caucasian (British)
GENDER: Male
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual
WAND: Ash, 13 and 1/4 inches, core of Hebridean Black dragon scale
BROOM: Cleansweep
PET: An annoying, scrawny brownish-reddish cat named Nicholas.
APPEARANCE:
Jude's looks are, if anything, an accurate reflection of his character. His face has a refined appearance to it, with a mouth perpetually upturned at the corners and a perfectly proportioned, noble and straight nose. His smile is radiant and often said to be his most attractive feature. These features are sometimes accentuated by the slightest amount of stubble if he forgets to shave, but for the most part he remembers and thus is clean shaven. His hair is dark brown and slightly scruffy, and it tumbles down onto his forehead naturally. His eyes are a luminous brown colour - they appear hazel or green at times, but for the most part they're that alluring liquid brown hue that is hard to resist. They give the appearance of high intelligence, and at the same time are friendly, and warm enough to become lost in.
He stands at 5 feet and 11 inches tall, although that remains to be seen as he is still growing steadily.
He's got a lean body, with the perfect amount of muscle build in proportion to his height. His shoulders are broad, but not overly so, again in perfect measure and proportion to his other traits, and his torso tapers downwards in an ever so slight 'V' to meet his waist and hips. He is, overall, a very attractive young man, although he is not actively aware of it.
FACE CLAIM: Jim Sturgess
PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION:
Jude's personality speaks for itself. He's a sweet, compassionate guy who finds it easy to love and be loved in return. He's outgoing and fun, with a good sense of humour and a love of laughing. He's got a tendency to think just a little left of centre, and this lends him a quirky, bright nature. The word pessimistic doesn¡¯t exist in his vocabulary if he can help it. He¡¯s supportive and loyal to a fault ¨C once you¡¯re friends with Jude Howard, you¡¯re friends for life.
He's a little bit of a dreamer, and all his imaginings and ideas always have a way of ending up on paper, whether it be through verse or drawing. As such, he's got a poet's soul - he's very open minded and creative. He's no pushover, though - he's also extremely concentrated and has the capacity to be solemn if required to be.
He's always accepting of everyone until proven otherwise - he believes that making premature judgments are wrong, and steadfastly ignores stereotypes, even if they are true. He's unaware of his good looks and is humble, even about things that he's good at. He's also just the slightest bit of a romantic - he can do the whole red roses and candlelit dinners thing if he knows it'll make whoever he's with happy. He practically exudes an air of charisma which he's found makes people think he's easier to talk to.
He always seems to know the right things to say, no matter who he's talking to. He can listen for hours if it's needed, and is just one of those friend-who-will-be-there people. A shoulder to cry on, a loyal best mate - that's Jude.

WHATS IN THE PAST:
As typical as Hogwarts romances were in the day, Paul and Lucy Howard's was somewhat different. Of course, their parents encouraged them both to seek out Purebloods for friends, relationships and the like, but unfortunately both Paul and Lucy had quite the stubborn, rebellious teenage streak. To be frank about it, they hated each other. Often dragged into Argus Filch's office for having dungbombed each other in their early years, but then eventually for causing one another to sprout tentacles once they worked out how to, it was evident that their hatred would be long-lasting, much to their parents chagrin.
In fact, it wasn't until after they'd graduated, parted ways (with obvious relief) and gotten themselves jobs that they ran into each other at a restaurant one night 'accidentally' (yeah, right- their parents were still playing matchmaker) and, forced to share a table because the restaurant was full (really, one had to give SOME credit to their parents for plotting so well), they sort of had to talk. And talk they did, realizing that they shared many, many interests. To their surprise as much as anyone else's, Lucy was soon being led down the aisle by her father, and that was the end of things. Well, not really- Paul and Lucy still argued, as was in their nature, and certainly, they'd learned spells that caused a few more problems than tentacles in uncomfortable places, but now they had restraint of sort.
And then Jude arrived and all arguments were relatively reduced for the sake of not waking the, at times, rather loud baby. Jude had a relatively normal pure-blood upbringing, ever influenced by both his father's job as an Auror for the Ministry and his mother's as a healer. As he was his parent's only child, there was no option of taking one career while a sibling took another, so for a few early years he was somewhat torn between futures. In the end, however, he conceded that he could do more good as an Auror - that is to say, if he ever managed to stay away from his sketch pad for long enough.
When he was 11 and his letter came announcing he was going to Hogwarts, he felt fulfilled and happy - finally, he was going to be able to make his own way, and do his own thing.|{ OTHER INFO }
RP EXAMPLE:
Line here. Light shading there. Gradually, the rough sketch of Hogwarts that Jude Howard was drawing started to take shape. Lines elegantly merged into each other and contrasting made the shape of the castle stand out from the surrounding sketched countryside. Smiling with satisfaction, Jude set the sketch pad down, folded his arms contentedly and looked up through the boughs of the tree he was seated under towards the sky.
He was in a particularly good mood, seeing as he had just received an Outstanding on one of his N.E.W.T practice essays, something which, whilst it occurred sometimes, was not a regular feature in his life. Sighing contentedly, the boy felt a slight twinge of regret that he was leaving the school after what seemed to be such a short period of time, but was, in reality, seven years.
He supposed, though, that he had to make a future for himself, and the sooner he was able to do that, the happier he'd be. He'd always been the independent sort, despite having a profound love for socializing.
Again, he cast a glance at the sketch pad and his hands instinctively twitched towards it -he refrained, however. One had to know limits. Standing up and brushing himself off resolutely, he traipsed off in the direction of the castle, intent on meeting up with some friends in the Hufflepuff common room.
