The year is 1980. The fears that have been growing in people's hearts over the past few years have seemed to overtake the whole Wizarding world. Ideas that were once only dark, worried whispers have manifested themselves in the form of Voldemort and his Deatheaters. The threat of Voldemort gaining complete power is now even more evident as more and more people begin to disappear. His number of Deatheaters only seems to be growing, causing some people to go into hiding. The young Potters as well as their friends have been shaken by the unstable times. Everybody feels the danger surrounding them, and nobody feels safe.
Friends turn against each other as the trust that was once there vanishes. However, a group of people have risen to fight against the Dark Lord and his followers: the Order of the Phoenix, a force created by Dumbledore to fight against the evil that plans to take over. Young, idealistic, hopeful, and very determined people have joined the Order, refusing to allow the world to fall at the hands of Voldemort. They are all driven by their hearts, and because of this they are more powerful than they realize.
James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew have graduated from Hogwarts and managed to remain close friends throughout the chaos that still reigns. Lily and James, to most people's surprise and shock, were married, Sirius being the best man in the event. Together, the five of them have joined the Order, along with Alice and Frank Longbottom, and many others. They are all aware that doing so puts their very lives in peril, as well as their friends and loved ones.
James and Lily's love is very deep, as they have both grown up (especially James) and learned to see beyond the superficial. They plan on starting a family, but that seems very difficult in the current hostile atmosphere.
Sirius, never one to settle down, is a young bachelor in a world that sees no tomorrow. Though he has a more serious side, which is often seen when he is working for the Order, he is still a playboy at heart. In the back of his mind, he feels unsettled. Is his dark premonition just a feeling, or is there more to it?
As a young boy, Remus always found himself an outcast due to his condition. However, after being accepted in to Hogwarts and meeting his best friends, he began to hope that maybe there would be acceptance for him after all. Now, a few years out of school and he has found that his hopes were just that, hopes. Even at the age of twenty, finding a job proves to be difficult, despite his accomplishments at school and as the threat of Voldemort taking over becomes ever more real, he finds himself against the world even more.
Leaving school, a new type of power began to entice Peter. He felt drawn to the superior attitude of the Deatheaters, and secretly joined their forces. His powers were stronger than ever now that he had dark magic at his disposal. The Marauders assumed Peter had just gotten more confident in himself - he certainly acted differently now - and they foolishly could not see the truth behind their friend's transformation.
Now only two questions remain, can the friends manage to survive this chaos that threatens their way of life as they know it, or will they fail in the fight of good vs. evil? And more importantly, what side will you choose?
