Like what? Ryver gave an honest, confused look around the table. Normally he’d try to say something to smooth things over, but Cali did say that he should keep his head down. So instead he kept on smiling (entirely because he was still happy, no matter how much her mother glared at him!) and put the dishes out. After Cali had sat down, he sat beside her and smiled at her. There was no helping it, since watching her walk around all domestically in the morning made him just want to…
No, it wasn’t dirty this time!
He wanted to hug the heck out of her, tickle her to bits and then kiss her senseless! But he couldn’t do that, because the parents were watching. So instead he helped himself to some toast and poured himself a glass of pumpkin juice before pausing. Blue eyes looked squarely at Cali with a curious, thoughtful look on his face and then they drifted over the table as if trying to locate something. Without a word, he stood up from the table and went right to the fridge (once again forgetting that he shouldn’t be so comfortable, but there was something on his mind…) and peeked around inside.
Not a moment later, he came back with the apple juice he found and put it beside Cali before sitting down and getting some eggs on the plate. “Is there a good place to swim nearby?” He asked as though he hadn’t just done something strange.

There was nothing said about Ryver getting up and getting into the fridge. Julianne naturally glowered at the back of the boy's head, but that was the extent of it. Robbane watched, curiously, then seemed amused by the whole ordeal, and Cali simply continued on as if this wasn't out of the ordinary. In fact, almost the second after he'd placed the juice container down, she had it in her hand and was pouring herself a glass. This earned an even darker look from her mother and a chuckle from her father.
"What?" Cali asked, blinking in turns at the both of them.
"Nothing." he father grinned before shoveling a mouthful of eggs.
Julianne merely snorted and took much more careful bites from her plate then her husband.
Cali's eyes turned to Ryver and she gave him a curious look. What in the world was wrong with her folks now? She shook her head a bit and took a drink of her juice before shrugging. "There's a pretty decent sized, clear water pond about a mile out from here. It's a decent walk from here, but worth it."

He didn’t mention anything about it, instead focusing on his plate with a small little smile on his face. Ever the overgrown child, he pushed his food around on the plate to make a smiley cat (using the toast, bacon, and eggs of course!) before he began eating. Cali mentioning the pond earned a thoughtful expression before he nodded. “Sounds fine to me. We could even fly, if you wanted.” Ryver’s lips curled into a slow, amused grin.
“You’re not afraid of heights, are you?” Not that it would matter to him. Walking, flying, as long as they could go swimming he was stoked. Especially if Cali was wearing ANY bathing suit. A second skin, all hugging her curves… He looked down at his plate with a secret smile on his face as he cut slits into the cat’s eyes.

Cali nodded her head a bit, chewing thoughtfully on a mouthful of eggs before swallowing. "I think I'd rather walk." she insisted, sparing him a side glance. "It just sort of adds to the experience, you know? You'll appreciate the swim more if you have to earn it." she grinned at this, then turned her attention back to her plate. This was most definitely not the way Cali would appear to most people. Willing to hike, get dirty, and swim in natural ponds. To most people who came to her home for the first time, it surprised them. Apparently she seemed to exotic? Whatever...she was perfectly content with her country life, and that was all that mattered to her.
"S'a good time of year too." Robbane chimmed in, "No snakes to worry about."
"Like we would need to worry about snakes anyway," Cali rolled her eyes, "Being magical and all."
"True...Very true. Just make sure you don't forget your swim sheath then."
"I know, I know..." Cali glanced at Ryver again and muttered under her breath, "Sheesh..."

“You’re my kind of woman, then.” Ryver grinned at her broadly and (brutally!) ate one of the cat’s eggy eyes! “I’ll work hard, then, if this place is as good as you say it is.” There was a bit of a challenging flare to Ryver’s voice, but it was all teasing fun. When they began talking about snakes he almost choked (Almost!), but forced it down enough to make it seem like nothing was amiss.
He wasn’t planning anything of the sort, but he wouldn’t be opposed to it, either.
“We’ll be safe.” He reassured after regaining his composure. Strangely enough, a lot of his plate disappeared during his time with his head down.. Must be a man reflect of some kind…
