Remus was sitting, and leaning, on a tree beside the lake. It was the weekend and he found it perfect to relax so he decided to come out to the lawn to read a book. For most people this wouldn't be relaxing. And it shouldn't have been relaxing because he spent most of his time reading in the library anyway. But he guessed that a change of scenery would do him good or it just showed how completely nerdy he was. His eyes were hurting (but he was used to it), his legs were stiff from sitting in the same position too long (which he was also used to), his back was also sore, and the sun was ever annoyingly shining in his face (which was a new developement in the making). This was likely to make hims a bit tanner so he didn't mind so much. Spending so much time inside made him paler.
Reading about werewolves didn't exactly give him any comfort but knowing that other werewolves were out there was helpful. He wondered if they felt the same as he did, or if they had even gone to Hogwarts. He closed A Guide To Werewolves and leaned his head back until it touched the tree. He hated how he always felt like no one knew what he was going through. With James still mad at him and he and Lily not talking. He didn't ever know where Sirius or Peter were. So was this it? Almost seven years of being best friends and this was it? He was alone, exactly how he had began. He shook his head as the thought 'The Marauders aren't as close as they thought they were' crossed him min.
Remus sighed again. It was about time to stretch his aching limbs. Even a guy who spent all day in the Library had their limits. He stood slowly and carefully, wincing at the jolted pain in his sore limbs. He put his arms up in a stretch and yawned. He winced again as the sun was directly in his eyes instead of having the tree to cover him from time to time because of the breeze. Turning away from the sun he grinned, feeling much better now that his face wasn't heated anymore. He rubbed his eyes before looking at the entrance of Hogwarts.

Post by Peter 'Wormtail' Pettigrew on Apr 25, 2009 1:13:25 GMT -5
Peter yawned and slowly started making his way out of Gryffindor Tower and towards the entrance hall. He'd just woken up from a very satisfying nap and had noticed out the window that it looked to be nice weather for a change, so decided for a change of scenery. He was still a bit tired, maybe he'd have a nap under a tree? He'd decide when he got there.
Slowly making his way downwards, Peter couldn't help but notice a decided lack of people. He barely passed anyone in the corridors, and he hadn't seen any of the other Marauders in ages, which confused him because they all shared a dorm. If one of them did happen to be awake when he was in there, they were in no mood to chat and going straight to bed. He wasn't sure what had gotten into everyone. Surely nothing had changed in Peter's life, what could be so dramatic about theirs?
Finally reaching the main door, Peter pushed it open and stepped out into the sunlight. Of course, the brightness made him squint his eyes even more and his already-poor eyesight was rendered completely useless, so he just stood there for a second, letting the door fall closed behind him. After a minute or two, Peter tried opening his eyes again and was significantly more successful at the whole concept of 'seeing.' A few people were scattered outside, but Peter couldn't help but notice once more that the population of Hogwarts seemed to have been eaten by the corridors.
One lone figure stood out from the other few, appearing from behind a tree, with something in his hand that might have been a book. Studying the figure for a bit longer, Peter finally determined that he knew that shape. There were very few people with the body type of Remus, so thin, but radiating an underlying power even from such a distance. He'd probably come outside to read, like he did sometimes.
Making his way over, Peter eventually reached the other boy. "Hullo Remus. How've you been lately? It's like everyone just up and disappeared, I haven't talked with anyone in ages."

Post by Sirius 'Padfoot' Black on Apr 25, 2009 14:06:21 GMT -5
Sirius had had a fairly successful day. He had spent the better part of the morning chilling on a immobile stair case, that nobody could see, throwing small objects at students who passed. Snape had come past at one point and Sirius had made sure to throw a rather large object his way. The greasy haired potions freak was so confused it took all of Sirius's will power to not laugh and give away his position. His fun had been stopped when Andromeda came by and searched for the source of the small object. When she had found Sirius he got an earful about being mature and not acting like a five year old. All stuff he had heard before, so he did what he always did with Andy and tuned her out while appearing attentive. Promising to behave he had escaped his cousin and been able to fit in asking an attractive Hufflepuff on a date before going to lunch. After wolfing down some rather delicious kidney pie, Sirius decided to go outside and enjoy the weather.
Being a nice day, Sirius considered simply sitting in the courtyard for awhile, but decided that he should take a walk around the grounds. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, the shaggy haired Gryffindor moseyed over towards the lake. As he did so he suddenly realized that he hadn't seen his friends in awhile. Apparently James and Remus were having a little spat about something to do with Evans. Remus needed to get over his little crush and find himself a girlfriend, that was for sure. Not that Sirius was taking sides in that whole deal, but he thought that, considering the conditions, it would be best for Remus to turn his attention on to another girl. Maybe a nice Hufflepuff girl. That would have to be his goal for the next little while. Nevermind the fact that the last time Sirius tried to hook Remus up with a girl it turned into a fiasco that involved a rather unsavory character who intruded on the date in Hogsmeade.
As far as Peter was concerned, Sirius had seen hide nor hair of the little Gryffindor in weeks. Sometimes that worried Sirius, since Peter was an impressionable sort of guy and could easily fall into the wrong crowd without realizing it. James had been sulking in his room ever since the Remus and Evans fiasco and, with surprising maturity, Sirius kept thinking that the guy needed to get over it and get on with his life. The Marauders used to hang out every minute of every day, but lately they had only seen each other when the were going to bed. Even then it was hard to see each other because despite sharing a dorm room, each member seemed to be timing their bedtime perfectly to miss certain people. Somehow Sirius had managed to avoid any drama and had been feeling somewhat like the monkey in the middle. It was a new feeling for Sirius, who seemed to attract some kind of drama wherever he went.
With these thoughts fresh on his mind, Sirius suddenly spotted both Remus and Peter. Smirking, he thought that maybe things were getting back to normal. That would be a welcome change from the past few weeks. So with a cheerful grin on his face, Sirius strode over to his two friends. "Hullo, chaps!" He greeted, slapping Remus on the back and giving Peter's already messy hair a tousle. "And how are we all doing today?" He suddenly felt the rather depressed state of both Remus and Peter and his smile faltered a little. "Oh Merlin, it's going to be one of those days again." He mumbled, wondering why his friends couldn't accept the fact that they were young and supposed to be care free. Well, maybe they weren't really care-free anymore since they were graduating soon, but they were still young. And the day was gorgeous. Why did his friends have to be downers at a time like this?
